If it doesn't say b, then it's the original 1394 spec. I don't think it matters though, 'cause even DV isn't 50MB/sec. That's like 3GB/min, which would be an insane bitrate.

It should work at the 400mb/s data transfer rate. Out of curiosity, do the older firewire cables work with the new protocol?
