Hey guys,

I can't decide which RAM to get for my i7 upgrade. Here is a few of the kits I am looking at. The prices are in AUD.

I'm looking at these kits:

Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538&products_id=8670

OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Intel i7 Edition http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538&products_id=8657

OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum 3x2GB http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538&products_id=8648

OCZ DDR3 PC3-15000 Reaper 3x2GB http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186_538&products_id=8698

G Skill PC3-12800 PI http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/view.php?id=g_ddr3&no=59

I'm a novice overclocker so I don't really know much about timings and all that stuff. So I have a few questions about those kits I posted:

1. Which kit would be the best out of those?

2. Which kit would overclock the best?

3. Which kit would be more suitable for my particular situation(Asus P6T, Either a D0 920 or W3520 and looking to get between 4000-4200Mhz)?

4. Is there a different/better kit I should be looking at in that price range?

The Corsair memory you listed is a solid choice for OCing to 4ghz+. I can't really comment on the other brands.

A bit of a bias, maybe? ;)

I would say they are all good. No real need to go with that OCZ Reaper kit. Those G.Skill PI sticks are also solid.

Of course I am biased. But, that's also why I only really addressed question #3 out of the original 4. I don't get into trying to sell memory or commenting about our competitors.

I don't really think brand promoting is really the right thing to do on forums. Best thing to do was to probably not have commented or shwoed OP some data.

This memory has Micron D9 chips on them that overclock a lot better than the expensive stuff out there. Does 2000MHZ 8-9-8-21 at a little over 1.71 volts.

Here is a thread on them. The 3x2 kit has D9's on them as well.

The customer asked if the chosen RAM would allow him to hit a certain OCing goal. I answered his inquiry about the Corsair product listed. This is exactly what Kyle (Bennett) has asked that company reps do here.

Thanks for the link to realraiders. I'm going to be buying the Crucials 12GB soon. You just saved me a bundle.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Anyone else got an opinions? Which RAM overclocks the best on stock volts of 1.65V?
