USB headset is there anything I can use to make the cord longer??

I am being required to use a usb corded headset so that I am hard wired to my pc, is there a compatible extension cord I can get so I can at least walk 10 steps from my desk?? Please help! I had a wireless Jabra 930Pro, they are telling me the hardware can not be installed on the pc. And I have to use the new issued pc they gave me not my computer like I was using. Thanks in advance!! Tetherd and miserable!!
 
A longer extension might need an active cable (it has a built in signal booster)

i guess if he goes nuts with length, but most extensions are 6-10' and will be fine for what the op needs, and all he'll find at the dollar store anyways.

Yep, the USB2 spec has a maximum range of 16 feet, anything above that is either flaky or non-working without an active cable. 16 feet is easily exceeded if across the room -use is needed.
