Has anyone even noticed this? I saw it on the Intel web page then decided to google, looks like it's not very popular but a pretty cool idea anyway, even if it's mobile. I mean the Alder Lake Pentium Gold 8500 & 8505. (There's even a second 8505 that has a minimum 12 watt power usage, whatever that means.)

one performance core (P-cores, Golden Cove architecture) and 4 efficient cores (E-cores, Gracemont architecture).
Quick Sync in version 8 is the same as in the Rocket Lake CPUs and supports MPEG-2, AVC, VC-1 decode, JPEG, VP8 decode, VP9, HEVC, and AV1 decode in hardware.

There is certainly interesting low power usage product to be made with that level of iGPU and 1-2 P-core, lot of E-core to be made eventually, specially if the os/software side get solid at using cores efficiently.

Even outside mobile if power cost stay high and cpu get more powerful than what we need to do for more and more task, could make a nice plex server if you go for raisonable decoding task.
