I'm looking to build a small form factor system for a server. It doesn't have to be to powerful, but here are ther requirements:

small/medium
QUITE
1Gz (or better) proc
512 megs memory (plan on buying this seperate)
IDE raid
Being able to cram 2 or 4 drives into it (standard 3.5 IDE drives)
CD-ROM
2 Network card (100Mbits) (either intergrated or via cards) They should be the same model.
Standard video (nothing fancy, S3 will work... just text-based console output)
1 serial port
standard keyboard/ps2 port

Audio not required
Parrell port not required
usb/firewire not required

BIOS able to boot without keyboard attached

shuttle's sb62g2 (what i have) has two network cards built onto the motherboard. You can probably squeeze 4 hd's in there in a pinch but you wouldnt be able to use a cdrom if you do. Antec aria with an matx motherboard might be your best bet if you need that many hdd's, thats the biggest sff i can think of.

Here is what I'm using for a server;

Shuttle XPC-SB62G2
1GIG ddr400 memory
2 250GIG hdd's
plain black cd-rom

running windows server 2003

It's been working flawlessly since day 1.

I use the stock cooling, onboard video, onboard audio and it's got two nics built in.

Couldn't ask for a better platform for a server for home use.

Take a look at the Antec Aria case. It's a small cube mATX case that will hold up to 3 hard drives.

It's pretty slick. I use one for my HTPC.
