I believe you are supposed to post a picture of your setup. Not just the specs.

Also have a 2014 MBP, and a 2015 MBP, along with all the other Apple stuff like iPads and iPhones... Working for Corporate has it's perks.

I used to have the beige.. Man that's been ages ago.. That's cool you got it running!

Mine. Second iMac used for display with other Mac. Cheaper than buying a discontinued Thunderbolt display.

My rather ridiculous setup. 1x maxed out hex core Mac Pro - D700, 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD. 3x overpriced (and now endangered) Apple Thunderbolt displays. It's a good bit of kit, but not without its issues.

Just seeing this -- what I love is that you're mixing a maxed-out Mac Pro with an old-school Microsoft mouse and a 2nd-generation iPod shuffle (still have mine, even if I haven't used it for years).

I'll get a pic later but I have a 2009 mac pro tower flashed to 5.1 with a replaced nic Xeon W3690 32GB of Ram 512mb SSD 5TB D drive, Bluray and a Geforce 960 4GB.

I have it hooked to my main PC's hardware via a switchover to a 34inch LG monitor and my Razor Tron key/mouse with Creative Labs 5.1 speaker set and a oldschool mic as my logitech USB mic hates it.

I updated it to a twin CPU put in Twin Xeon 5690's 3.73ghz. 128GB in DDR3 ECC. 1 TB NVME 7TB of SSD+spindle backup space. USBC card, Vega Frontier 16GB and a bluray burner. Given it's age it runs rather well in 2023.

Mac Mini - I don't recall all the specs. Haven't used it in forever. I know it has 8GB, 500MB Spinner, i5 Processor.
iPad Air V1
iPad Air V2
iPad Mini V4

Here's my Apple products,

2016 Mac Book Pro 13 inch

2008 Mac Pro - got it free, running OS Lion... I never new these were Xeon processors. I have no idea what I will use it for.

BTW Mojave sucks. I can't download old OS on that platform, apple should do something about this. Just my 2 cents.

Recently acquired 2011 iMAC 27" i7, 16gb ram for my daughter... (on the cheap).

Had it 2 months and the video card started glitching.. Yanked it apart yesterday to bake the AMD 6970m (very common failure on this year), and installed an older Samsung SSD I had in my PC for VMs. I have a Dell / Nvidia K1100M on order for when the video card fails again, but will be able to go Mojave with it (metal support). https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2011-imac-graphics-card-upgrade.1596614/page-93#post-27504422

Currently on High Sierra. Bake was successful (no more glitching for now), SSD boot times are about 15 seconds, and the i7 2600 is plenty fast in this. I have less than $400 in this little project.. including tools to pull it apart, Sata cable, K5 Pro, FMV of the SSD, the replacement / spare video card I have on order, etc.. Kind of a pain to take apart and put back together the first time, but could do it again a bit faster in the future. I was very careful and took my time. The master bedroom bed gave me enough room to do the work. Kind of new to yanking macs apart, other than replacing the batteries in my daughters Macbook airs. Macs are ok I guess, not a fan of their business practices or "Eco System".. but daughters won't use PCs.. and I will stick with mine. Newer iMacs are a bit less friendly dissembling.

Baked at 395 degrees F for 8 minutes... These gen cards are notorious for failing, and baking does revive them indefinitely.

Motherboard and Video card back in... Installed Samsung 845DC Evo 480 GB as the boot drive. No doublesided tape, but tape application is good, and does not interfere with airflow for the superdrive / GPU heatsink:

Only issue is the ZIP drive appears to be foobar'd since the light is stuck on.

I don't know much about G4s but on old PCs a constant on floppy drive light is pretty much always a flipped ribbon cable. May be worth a look.

Yea that was the first thing I checked. Ribbon cable is in the proper orientation. I'll just replace it with a new drive, or leave it unplugged since I don't use ZIP.

2019 Mac Pro base model
27” Apple LED Cinema Display
CalDigit TS3 Plus to connect the two

And sitting on top is my work laptop, a 2017 MacBook Pro 15”.

I love the setup, although I can't help but feel that a modern Mac Pro 'deserves' a big visual canvas, like multiple displays or an ultra-wide monitor. Of course, that can come in time... and there are perks to a minimalist setup like this.

I bought the CalDigit TS3 so that I could use my single Apple monitor instead of the three 1440p 144Hz "gaming monitors" I was using. I'm probably the only person in existence to go from a triple monitor setup to a single, without any size increase, and to pay extra for the privilege.

Crosspost from the Hobbies section of GenMay.

Custom built this replica of the Pottery Barn Logan desk suite.
On it is the iMac setup in my sig.

I also built the little wood stands under the TB display and the iMac. Some guy sells "The Last Stand" on Etsy, but I didn't see how scrap plywood was worth $40 a piece. Plus, by doing it myself I got the exact heights that I was looking for.

14" Macbook Pro M1 Max 10 core CPU/32 core GPU, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD that I picked up in stock at my local Apple Store. Paired it with an LG 32" 4K Ultrafine display and a Logitech MX3 keyboard/mouse.

This setup replaced my 2017 i7 27" 5K iMac with 27" Thunderbolt display.

The previous monitor gave me wicked headaches and eye strain, never could figure out why. Originally went back to my 2x 27" Apple Thunderbolt Displays, and just today replaced it with this LG 34" USB-C curved monitor, love it, its even better than having 2 Thunderbolt Displays. The Thunderbolt Display is massive and takes up a ton of space.

Why Apple discontinued the space grey keyboards and trackpads is beyond me! Once you go space grey there's no going back!

Yeah I saw they were being discontinued and picked one up, Apple though ... all their stuff has to match so when they dc'd the imac pro these kbs had to go too.

2012 Mac mini hoping to upgrade to a M1 Mac mini

You won’t be disappointed with one. Bought the base model when it was on sale at Costco around Christmas. Huge upgrade over the 2012 rMBP for what we use it to do. I’m sure there’s use cases where 16GB RAM, more internal storage and 10GbE would make sense. For the price of a base on sale though I figured it’d be worth it and just sell this one for not too much of a loss as the replacements come with a bit more as standard.
