I'm too hooked on World of Warcraft right now. I have no more time either between kiddo and puppy.

I agree though, there is no way a new player would be able to get into the game now. Far too overloaded.
Yeah, im playing shadowlands right now. actually having fun pvp'n. I missed last 2 expansions and from what people said it is a good thing lol.

Is anyone here playing, if so how are you liking the update so far. I'm taking a break from WoW to play this and so far I have been enjoying it. Ritual seems to have decent rewards if RNG favors you. The Atlas part of the update seems great with the boss encounter stuff.

I've played for a few hours. Seems fine. I'm on Warcraft too, and have a few things to button up there. I'll head back to POE once I get my legendaries sorted and a few mythics done.

I have been playing. It's ok. I'm not a fan of the ritual encounters so far, but the character is still new. Maybe it'll get better as it progresses

Leveled a Duelist/Slayer to L90 in Ritual league. The league mechanic is enjoyable in that it's simplistic yet engaging, and it integrates well with the base game by not needing separate zones etc. It's pretty much Breach in a slightly different form, so it's not surprising the playerbase has had a positive reaction as Breach is often mentioned in 'favorite league' threads.

While fun to play the base game still needs some QoL (quality of life) updates, the lack of competition in the online-arpg genre has allowed ggg to ignore most of the playerbase's requests regarding small fixes that would go a long way.

I logged in had really bad lag so I uninstalled there isn't a gamma slider either.

They used to have issues with rubber banding, but that was quite awhile ago.

I thought there was gamma control. I'd have to look again. It is a dark game

I just started playing after not touching it since beta. One night out of 4 I have had bad lag, the other nights have been fine. The game is a lot smoother playing than I remember, it was pretty janky back in beta if I remember correctly.

There's 2 networking settings to play with also. Lockstep and Predictive. Lockstep works best if you have a very stable connection with latency doesn't fluxuate up and down. Lockstep basically expects no lost or dropped packets.

If you get stuttering or hitching or freezing (and then running super fast to catch up), try predictive mode. It'll occasionally get off track and you'll rubberband or warp, but it's sometimes preferable to the freezing and lag.

Wifi usually fluxuates a lot. So does cable. You can press (I think it's F1 by default) a button to overlay network and frame time settings on your screen. It's great for troubleshooting. If my wife turns on Disney+ while I'm playing, I get intermittent lag spikes on lockstep due to the way that streaming service pulls data. Soon as she logs off, it goes away. The time of day matters too. Depends on how many people are in the game and how many people are downloading porn in my neighborhood (I'm going to guess a lot).

Huh, there is no gamma slider. Dunno why I remembered that it did. I guess you do it via Nvidia/AMD control panels. It is dark, but I just found equipment that boosted light radius and ran with it

Picked up two mirror shard cards from my ritual rewards today (it first appeard a couple days ago), had to defer it every time it appeared for about 150 maps before I could afford it.

“Echoes of the Atlas has been Path of Exile’s most successful expansion so far,” Chris Wilson, co-founder of Grinding Gear Games said. “We are so pleased to still be setting new player number records after over 30 quarterly league releases since 2013. It shows us that our development methodologies are evolving in the right direction as we work towards completing Path of Exile 2.” (source)

Oh buddy.
Ehh an actual mirror dropped for me a couple years ago back in Harbinger league, (posted a screenshot in this very thread here), this was just 1/10th of one :p

I haven't seen one in almost 1000 hours. Come to think of it I've only seen like 7-8 exalts 😆

What's a mirror? Serious question. Been playing 3 years.
It's an extremely rare item that can be used to create a mirror image of a piece of gear. If someone crafts some ungodly item with perfect rolls they can charge people to mirror it. Generally the answer to this question is above my pay grade because I usually only build out a 15-20 exalt gear set before I fizzle out.

Thanks for the answer. It also explains why I've never seen one since I only play the leagues and start over every 3 months.

I may fire this up again. Kind of hit a wall in World of Warcraft. Getting a bit burnt out.

I'm still not a fan of the ritual stuff. I got better drops with the last league.

This just drags everything out. It's monotonous. More so than D3 grinding.

And a new league coming out in a few days. Been playing on Standard for the past couple months. Having a fun time. I'll fire up this league. Have an idea what I'm going to do, but not 100%. As always, I'll log in and stare at the character creation screen still deciding.

I'm looking forward to POE 2. I remember playing POE when it just had a couple of acts. Look at it now.

I have been playing this game off and on since late 2013.... I still suck at it.

I'd still be playing it had it not been consolized. The first couple of years it was out, I played a lot of it, it was great fun. I cannot play it now. Another great game ruined by consumerism.

The console builds are different from the PC builds. The core gameplay (while obv faster now with more Damage/AoE) is pretty much the same as it was years ago. Not sure how you see it as consolized.

Take a look at the camera position or FOV from when the game first came out as to what it is now.

I remember that patch - it wasn't the camera FoV that changed but it's position - they moved the camera a bit on the (negative Y) so that you could see more area below your character, due to the angle and old position there was too much disparity with how much you could see above than below you. The fov and height (Z) didn't change.

However, if you play on an ultra wide monitor like I do, you can see a bit more to the sides. The game is anything but consolized, in fact ggg are probably the most stubborn devs out there when it comes to players asking for QoL or 'comfort' features.

Yup, another league and still playing...lets see how long I go this one. I'll prob atleast finish the atlas

Unfortunately the login servers are a clusterfuck. Guess I should have expected that, though. Kind of a shame streamers get priority queue but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yea, I'm at the character creation screen, but it keeps saying the operation timed out. Probably just wait until tomorrow.

I figured today would be a cluster. It'll be Monday eve before I can play anyways, so no big loss

yea, its a mess. I did an ultimatum and scored a wand with +1 to all cold gems, and I got d/c. Then it rerolled and lost it.

I just started playing this, anyone got tips? I have a feeling I’m really screwing up my abilities.

Check out the guides. Follow a build. Zizaran has some a bunch of good stuff. Look for "league starter friendly" to start off with.

This game is intensely involved. Its near impossible to guide someone step by step. There's a thousand moving parts.

My tip would be to just experiment and have fun at the beginning. If you try to do everything min/max you'll get overwhelmed and stressed out, and then the fun goes away.
