I had to clean out some storeage and have 3 older video cards being R9 290x Tri X New Edition / 770GTX 4 Gb Twin Frozr/ RX 570 4Gb Red Dragon

What kind of value would be fair to ask ?

Thanks .. kind what I thought .. trying to decide on keeping the RX 570 and pairing with Ryzen 3100 I still have and sellling it as a system , just need a mobo /ram etc .. if that would make a better sale maybe local on facebook market place . I have sold some parts in the past like Oct 2020 letting a RX 5500 XT 8Gb go for $149 LIKE A DAM FOOL

Wow local classifieds have the 570 4gb anywhere between 240 and 320. 150 is a steal
Especially when you consider they were damn near giving the things away when they had them on sale for $90 with that 3-game triple A game bundle 2 years ago...

There is also alot of people asking stupid money for their junk rn. The prices I quoted are for someone who is actually trying to sell their stuff.

These cards should depreciate in value to less than 200 USD I would keep them for backup use.

Don't go by what local classified ads have them listed. I always list it a lot higher then I would take. You could be giving a 3090 and they will still ask for you to drive 5 hours to drop it off to them.

Oh they're selling at the prices I quoted... 570s and 580s have been going for much more than 100 or 150 since more than a year

8gb 580s for sure. the 4gb cards are junk for mining, the 4gb 570 is the worse out of all of them. Honestly a 290x 4gb is the better card compared to a 570 4gb.

so much this^^^ but i thought your fair prices were still high. never had a 290x but only paid $125CAN for a used 280x like 7 years ago, so figure the 290x isnt over that now. the 570 to compare i used my 580 i bought 3 years ago used for $150CAN. prices are nuts....

still doesnt make the asking prices any less retarded. they are not worth that much .

4gb versions naturally go for less, but still much more than what they're actually worth. Gamers are buying them at inflated prices cause there's nothing else!

It's like anything else man, used car prices are through the roof, people are making money buying their leases and selling them privately for quick profits. It's dog eat dog out there, video cards are hot items now, even old ass 6950s, people asking for 150 cad in my area

I see sold 470s on eBay for ~200. About 50 of that goes to fees and shipping so I would really expect one to go locally for $150. Its more hassle then its worth to try and get a stupid amount locally. Your going to get alot more bs and negotiations then just listing for a reasonable amount and selling it to the first person with a full cash offer

Thats where I bought two RX 570 4Gb one 8Gb and a RX 580 8Gb and payed $129 /$149/ $189 and all had games that i still own.. keeping the RX 570 8Gb and 580 8gb

The 290x is an RX 580 when overclocked but the power needs are great for that one and why the RX 570 is better at 100 -140 watt package with same performance as 290 - 290x 390 390x .. I would always pay more knowing that as power savings in gaming and not mining combined with a low power cpu setup as my 8Gb card does good in Fortnite in 1080p Med holding 144fps for my 144Hz display with low frame times .

I wasn't sure on 770GTX because it's not a DX12 card . Nice debate about current used pricing .

I don't know. Under what metric?

The Rx 200 series predates AMD's nerfing of FP performance. So if you do GPGPU tasks with your video card, older cards often outperform newer cards. This is especially the case with Nvidia where they want you to buy the far more expensive Quadro and Tesla cards for GPGPU, rather than use cheaper consumer level video cards.

R9 280x - FP32 4096 FP64 1024
R9 290x - FP32 5632 FP64 704

RX570 - FP32 5095 FP64 318.4
RX590 - FP32 7120 FP64 444.9

So if you have a FP64 workload, an R9 280x is over double the performance of even the RX590, and even outperforms the stronger R9 290x from its own generation. This shows that AMD was already starting to limit FP performance in the later GCN2 ASICs.

Okay I see. That could explain why my lowly HD7950 is getting nearly half the kH/s of my RTX2080 in Verthash one click miner.

Best rule of thumb is to check sold prices on eBay and post it locally so you don't lose out to fees.

I sold a bunch of 4GB 470s over summer for just under $200/each and they sold very quickly on eBay. They've been above $1/day profit at Ravencoin mining for the last year and the last time I saw them around $100-120/each was in January. A 570 should go for slightly more.
