It sounds like you're struggling to even have food. You don't need to be buying PC parts at all.

Your post is also super confusing. You said you have two PCs "listed below", but provide specs for one and give links to two more.

And none of those parts are going to help you run Far Cry 6. The parts are either not compatible (due to form factor) or are well below the minimum requirements for the game. FC6 wants a video card with at minimum of 4 GB of VRAM, so that automatically eliminates the GTX760, GT1030 and the RX550. The RX6400 is a garbage tier card that shouldn't even exist, and you definitely shouldn't buy it for any reason.

Both the A8-6600k and the A10 PRO 8770 were junk when released, and aren't worth more than use as an office machine today. They're about 50-60% slower than the minimum CPUs listed for the minimum requirements for FC6 (a Ryzen 1200 or an i5-4460.) The A8-6600k is also missing AVX2, so the game probably wouldn't even start.

Save your money, don't buy anything you listed. You'll just be very disappointed that nothing runs well or at all, and be out a bunch of money you don't have.

Gotta agree... There's no really worthwhile upgrade path here. I'd advise enjoying older and low spec games for now, and using the Walmart card to offset food and save for your car :)

Too bad the guy is in Canada, otherwise I'd just ship him a PC out of my horde.

I am not an expert on this, but could you look at cloud-based gaming option (eg. GeForce NOW) to play Far Cry 6 until you have the money to buy new hardware? I am pretty sure that your existing specs should be enough for GeForce Now:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce-now/system-reqs/

I guess that the key would be to make sure that you have a good internet connection. I don't have a lot of experience with cloud-based gaming but I know that it's been done with some recent Switch games and the results have been pretty impressive given how outdated that hardware now is.

Is that $900 Canadian dollars?? on Newegg.ca the RTX 2070 Super by itself sells for around $700 CAD new right now. Heck my 2022 PC below, which is nowhere near as fast as what you're proposing, costed me $2,100 CAD to build this year (although to be fair I could have probably saved $500 if I didn't go with a Shuttle system). The fact is that the Canadian dollar is doing very poorly against the USD right now and, in addition, it seems like the price inflation of computer parts is hitting Canadian consumers especially hard. I find that ordering stuff out of the US doesn't help much either because by the time shipping, duties & customs are factored in it ends up being just about as expensive as it is to buy it at a Canadian outlet new. I can't imagine you building the above rig for $900 in Canada right now. Unless you're buying used parts or getting an insane deal that I don't know about that's going to probably cost you at least twice your budgeted price.

That said, with that second PC you have listed (GTX 1070, i3-8100) I am sure that you can play games like Far Cry 6 maxed out at 1080p no problem. If 1080p gaming is enough for you, I don't think that you need to be in a rush to upgrade. The below youtube vid is somebody with the same CPU as you and a video card that is slower than the GTX 1070 playing Far Cry 6 and it looks great in my opinion:

yes its all used parts.

I would say take a look at this video by eta prime, not sure if you have the same deals up there but you can get a ton of pc power on the cheap, and just drop in a modern gpu.

ok im debating on upgrading my pc. its 10 years old in june. i play games, not alot casual(tried new far cry 6 and the last of us, but wont run) surf the web and watch tv shows on it. Or i dont get a new pc and hold out until my pc is 15 years old.

my currrent pc right now is:

AMD A8 6600k overclocked to 4.29GHZ(stock fan)
8GB DDR3 1600mhz ram(1 stick of ram)
Gigabyte GTX 760 2GB overclocked- 60 core, 610 memory
MSI A78-m motherboard
2TB 7200rpm hard drive
850 watt power supply
dvd rom drive(dont know what speed)
wireless usb mouse
PS2 keyboard
Dell 17" LCD monitor(got it free a few years old from a co-worker)

i want to keep this new pc (hopefully) for another 10-15 years. i looked around for used and new systems. i narrowed it down to these. all prices are in CAD dollars. i would be playing at 1280x1024 not like very high quality.

Used systems:

first one:

i7 4790

16gb ram

2x500gb hard drive

onboard video card

150.00 bucks

second one:

i7 4790k

250.00

third:

amd ryzen 3100

16gb ddr4 3700mhz cl17 ram

300 bucks without GPU and 120gb ssd or 330 with 512gb ssd m.2

350 with the 580 but just the 120gb ssd, 8gb of ram.

400 with the rx Sapphire pulse 580, but only a 126gb ssd with it. <--The 580 is actually never been used. It's sat in the box. only tested if it works.

440 with Sapphire pulse 580 and the 500gb ssd

fourth:

Lenovo TC M720s

model: 10ST002FUS 2.8 GHz intel Windows 10 operating system Monitor, keyboard and mouse included

400

fifth:

i5 12 core, 12th gen 16gb Ram. 250gb SSD 500GB HDD. wifi, HDMI, 6x USB. gigbit nic. windows 11, Updted.

dell optiplex 3000-

350.00

sixth:
HP Pavillion Gaming Desktop TG-01-1209. NVIDIA GeForceGTX 1660 Super, Intel Core i7-10700F @2.90GHz 8 core(s), 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, 1TB HDD @ 7200 RPM, Windows 11. 1 DisplayPort, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA.

New Pc at walmart- MSI MPG Trident 3 12TC-025CA Desktop Computer, Intel Core i5-12400F, 16GB Memory, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX3060, WiFi 6E, Windows 11 Home, VR Ready | Walmart Canada- 1599.99 but i have a 275.70 gift cards to use on it so it would be 1284.99 plus local taxes.

edit i played cypherpunk 2077 v1.62 on my pc and it ran at 30 fps with all low settings!

What is your budget?

Out of all those, #2 has the best gpu as long as you dont need RT.

The 4790k is already pushing 10, so not sure how much more life it has...

That said, at $250 you could have an ok machine for awhile.

The others are kinda men. Perhaps just piece used things together for a build of your own...

Get a second/third job for a few weeks. Done.
Why all the song and dance?
Life is a balance for everyone.

honestly id go with pcpartpicker and put together something that works for your budget, or at least once you have created this look for someone selling it or similar used (if that is acceptable for you).

10-15 years of gaming is a very high expectation for your budget.

people tell me stay away from oems
Then why not have those 'people' recommend something for you? I would just go to whatever local pc store you have and buy something within your budget and be done. its a gaming pc, not a house. you want something that can last 10-15 years you will need 1200-1500+ usd to do so. Im gaming on a 1080 and it is starting to show lots of limits, this pc is about 7 years old now and cost me 1700 at the time.
