new issue between gamers and the crypto crowd.

Though I agree NFTs are a load of HS, in game purchases are a very old thing now...and this has nothing to do with gamers vs miners. Infact the whole thing is silly, most gamers are miners are vice versa. 2 decade old gamer/pc builder and reluctant miner here..

NFT's are the biggest "LOOK AT ME!" false exageration of Capitalism yet. It wil fail so hard yet many will make million and have done so. Crypto is the logical takeover of fiat. All the side gags are just that. I wish I was smart enough to capitalize on the wealthy sheeple, but can only stand steady. Fingers crossed.

Crypto is fiat is my thought, just a different format. While normally (some are) not a nation issued currency, it is a public/governance/backed in most cases with votes from holders for different positions of authority, developers that can control the block chain vice a government. Now there are Stable coins backed by fiat, lol which are growing very fast -> hmmm an extension of the fiat system in progress.

What Is Fiat Money?

Fiat money is a government-issued currency that is not backed by a physical commodity, such as gold or silver, but rather by the government that issued it. The value of fiat money is derived from the relationship between supply and demand and the stability of the issuing government, rather than the worth of a commodity backing it. Most modern paper currencies are fiat currencies, including the U.S. dollar, the euro, and other major global currencies.

I really wonder what the split is these days. Most of my friends don't mine at all.

I really don't think there's an issue between gamers and the crypto crowd. As in everything; not all the applications of a new technology are ideal for every individual, I'm not a fan of NFTs and still I'm a fan of both cryptos and videogames. These two worlds have been linked for a while, even when not all big game developers accept payments with crypto, there are specialised shopping platforms for this where you can find almost everything gaming related there, just like https://www.cryptousage.com/keys4coins/ I think a lot of gamers like me have used crypto at least once to buy keys.
I'm definitely not defending the NFTs introduction in STALKER but this article calles cryptocurrencies " digital Ponzi schemes" and blockchain a "slippery concept" ... I find it hard to believe this was published in 2022.
