Bullshit, if 3.5 were dead they wouldn't be selling USB-C to 3.5 converters/DACs. It's less important that it once was, but there are PLENTY of people who still use it.

You're right, but the same people who refuse to buy any phone without a native headphone jack are frequently the same ones who've held out in the past on removable batteries, microSD card slots... you get the idea. The sort who would rather be miserable with an ancient phone than admit a hardware feature isn't coming back.
