Hey guys, I've got 4 Kingston 2GB memory modules of one kind (http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX11000D3LLK2_2G.pdf) and 2 Kingston 2GB memory modules of another kind (http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KVR1333D3N9_2G.pdf). Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm wondering if performance would improve or diminish if I put all the modules in, opposed to, say, only putting in the 4 KHX11000D3LLK2. I'm thinking the different latencies and timings might have a negative effect. Also, does it matter in which slots the different modules go? My MB is an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2.

Thanks in advance! :)

Unless your motherboard is very unusual, all the modules should run at the speed of the slowest module in your motherboard. This is assuming that all the sticks work without error - it's not always easy to get six sticks of memory to work.

As far as which memory slots to put them in - as long as the memory works it shouldn't matter.

Actually it does matter which slots you put them in. If you want to run dual or triple channel, you need to put them in the correct slots (Usually color coded)

He has 6 memory sticks and there are 6 memory slots his motherboard...no way to put them in wrong unless you mean shoving them into the PCIe slots by accident.
