I'm sitting here with an NCASE m1 v4 trying to figure out which path to go down. I've had a Core i7 920 since 2009 that has served me really well, but it's time for an upgrade. Moving from an Antec P180 to the NCASE is going to clear up some serious desk space.

It looks like ASRock supplies the one and only mITX LGA 2011-v3 board, so obviously the options there are very limited. I understand there are some sacrifices compared to the full sized boards. On the other hand, the LGA 2011-v3 stuff is available now.

1151 is going to be cheaper by $100+ but it looks like another month or two before parts are readily available. I have a Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 on my Core i7 920, and they are sending me a free adapter for 1151, which would save a few extra dollars as I don't believe the cooler is compatible with 2011-v3.

Benchmarks-wise, the 6700K looks to best the 5820K in some areas and lose in others. I'm playing 1-2 games a year, Photoshop/Lightroom, some Solidworks rendering, and occasional video editing. I'd like to have onboard Wi-Fi.

Given the form factor I'm leaning toward waiting for more z170 boards to show up, but while I'm waiting it seemed like a good idea to check in with the experts here.
