In theory the method would've been to rollback via time machine.

Good ol' Apple, I love having to revert all the changes made to the system just to uninstall an update. I've never tried it with vmdks involved, probably lose all the changes on my windows vm as well.

I moved a few users to catalina from various OSs (10.11 - 10.14) and havent heard more complaints than usual, IIRC if you do a fresh install (rather than an image like I usually do) you get to pick between light and dark themes, which seemed like a neat little idea. I dont remember seeing that on mojave, though maybe it was and I just dont remember. Personally I cant stand any of that apple garbage, if I have to use OSX its either Tiger or Snow Leopard, but you know, sole Net/Sys admin for an entirely apple organization so.......gotta get with the times once in a while :/
