Looking for a subwoofer or amplifier to complete setup

So I recently purchased a set of Edifier R1280Ts, and as it has a sub out, I am interested in hooking this up to my sub. The issue? I think I need a powered sub amplifier and I have no idea what ones are good.

Long story short: I have the subwoofer from my previous Klipsch Promedia 2.1's. The subwoofer cone disintegrated and I replaced it with a new one. Amp went out, replacement amp went out, and now I just want to see if this can somehow be hooked up to my Edifiers. If I ever have free time I might dink around with the Klipsch stuff again and make this a secondary unit for the living room or my garage, but for now, I want to add a sub.

Based on what I can tell from the setup, I'd be looking at getting an amplifier and a male-to-male RCA to 3.5mm cord to power the sub and hook it up into the Edifiers. Does this seem right?

Alternative is to get a new sub entirely, but that may be down the road. I have a perfectly working sub that I just want to bring to life again for the moment, as it seems to be the less expensive option.

The sub right now has bare wire ends (as that was how the replacement amp had them working) but I can fix that if I need to change them to banana plugs or something.

Look at SVS I own the SB 2000 Pro, these multimedia PC subs are all boomy sounding junk. I run a Logitech PC 2.1 system fine at low volume, the SVS is on my 5.1 AV system. Funny thing is when I bought it was originally intended to go towards a 3080 GPU purchase. Got frustrated and bought sub instead.

Yeah, that's way outside my price range. Not that the interest isn't there mind you, but I'd feel a little out of sorts pairing a $900 subwoofer to $120 speakers.

I was strongly considering that Monoprice sub. Still am.

That board though does look like it'd fit the bill. How would I go about powering it though? it doesn't look like it comes with a power supply and some of the questions being asked also point this out.

I second the use of an SVS sub, I have 2 SVS SB3000 subs and they kick some ass for quality, control and depth.
The built in EQ + DSP has no delay I can detect and both are controlled independently from my phone.
My hifi is very high end, they complement it well.
There are cheaper versions, have a look at their website, all now use the same DSP setup.

If you want an amplifier with built in DSP, Behringer make some very good amps with a lot of power if you choose wisely for the resistance of your sub.
Though you might want to replace the fan with something a little quieter.
The older versions have a very small delay which most people wont notice.
They are programmed with a USB app which is pretty good!
I havent tried the new version amps.
