Hey guys, I finally took the plunge and picked up an ender 3 pro for $150 @ micro center. I managed to level it pretty good, but I’m thinking I should get the auto leveling upgrade. What do you guys use?

If I really need this, does anyone know where to get them, since they seem to be out of stock everywhere?

Are there any upgrades or anything I should do right off aside from the basic back lcd box?

Thanks!

Not sure your budget, but I got one of the MacEwen 3D Extruders...really top notch. Got it with the SS gear....also purchased the capricorn tubing.

I ended up just getting a generic kit of parts with an aluminum extruder arm and haven't had a problem. I've used all the parts (tubing, springs, arm, couplers, etc) with no issue.

The tube helped with heat creep, the metal arm with filament rub, springs for leveling, couplers for keeping shit in place. It was a good buy.

Did you see a big improvement over the stock one?

Yes, eventually you will wear the plastic spring lever arm that the filament goes through as the filament will wear it open. The stock spring is loose, and doesnt apply enough pressure on the filament. feeding the filament is alot better design, and is less room for issues. Eventually the brass gear will wear, but will take a while. you will see less slippage of the filament and allow the extrusion to be much more dialed in....make sure you do a extrusion test and are getting the proper measurements....this helps immensely on layer adhesion and improve your speed of prints.
