Or you live in a country where downloading movies is legal no matter their copyright status. Of course, then the issue of BT uploading by default comes into play as being akin to 'distributing' :)
 
Elledan; Ah, yes, that's where it becomes sticky. My point was that it's certainly not as clearly "legal" as say, drinking the carton of milk you bought at the grocery store. I guess what I was really getting at is if it's not legal for him to download a movie from one place, it's probably not legal to download it from another place just because the format is different. The fact that you didn't get caught is never a good indicator of whether or not you've done something illegal.
