installed win 10 then Nothing?

Old hp lappie with windows 7 on it upgraded to windows 10 while it was free few weeks back decided to sell it cheap and BAM black screen of nothing doesnt do anything at all now. Put dvd back in to reinstall windows still no screen or prompts or anything.......a little help or ideas plz?

Instead of Installing Windows 7, go to the Microsoft website and make a media tool for Windows 10.
Once an Installation media is created, boot from it and install it from there.
Use the Windows 7 license key to activate your Windows 10 installation.

I think doing this would be fine.

Are you getting BIOS options? The post was sort of vague as to WHEN the black screen occurs.
