So I'm looking into going for an i7 7820x but the motherboards are a bit of an unknown for me.

I'm looking to keep the cost reasonable and will most likely stick to a mild overclock so for I got my eye on the folllowing 3 mobo's, since I have no experience with either Asrock or Gygabite maybe someone can chime in with their opinions on these.

The Asrock and Asus get good reviews, can't find any for the gigabyte one though.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices. It really comes down to price, which Bios you like, and the feature set on each board.

I have the 2011v3 version of that Taichi board and it is fantastic. The dual intel nic, wifi, and Bluetooth all on the board is a nice feature set for me.

I finally went with the Taichi, it had everything I need and was the cheapest of the bunch, 2nd choice would have been the Asus, but that one is out of stock for now. The gigabyte did come with a free optane 32GB drive, but that seems kind of pointless since my boot drive will be a 960 EVO.

Once I get round to building the thing I'll make a little update.

Personally I'm waiting for the EVGA X299 Dark. Looks pretty steller :)

Don't forget about the Little Monster...

That ASRock board is interesting. It doesn't support KabyLake-X CPU's.

Well I got the pc up and running, not overclocks yet, seems to work great so far, though the arctic liquid freezer 240 is loud at stock speeds, dropped the fans to 45% iso the default 60% and while that helps, it's still annoyingly loud.

Thinking of switching to my noctua air cooler (NH-D15) would that be powerfull enough to handle this CPU?

If using dual 140s and nothing crazy for OC, should be fine.

Im running my 7820x @ 4.3 on NH-D15S with dual 140s max temps during cinabench r15 is 73c, room temp 25c.
