I think we can use more ultra small ITX cases like Antec ISK-110(3.67lt)

Because not everyone needs a gaming GPU in ITX system.
Intel NUC's performance is still relatively slow(compared to ITX) and NUC runs pretty hot and loud. (especially the i7 NUC thanks to the inadequate heatsink/fan used by Intel, http://www.legitreviews.com/intel-nuc-kit-nuc5i7ryh-review_163523/4)
On board GPUs are always becoming more powerful, e.g. ones in Broadwell/Skylake are much more powerful than the HD4600 in Hawell processors.

You can build two different NUC killer(in terms of CPU/GPU performance and the noise) machines in Antec ISK-110 case.

Option 1
CPU: Intel i7 5775C (65W, 3.7GHz)
HSF: Noctua NH-L9i
M/B: Asus Z97i-PLUS
GPU: Intel Iris Pro 6200
RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares DDR3 2400
SSD1: 500G Samsung 850 EVO M.2
SSD2: optional
ODD: Samsung SE-208B (external)
CASE: Antec ISK-110 (3.67lt)
PSU: 90W built in (with the power adapter)
- Iris Pro 6200 is ~60% faster than Intel HD 530 (http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...s-Intel-HD-530-Desktop-Skylake/m30277vsm33102)
- CPU = not available atm, Mobo = EOL

Option 2
CPU: Intel i7 6700 (65W, 4.0GHz)
HSF: Noctua NH-L9i
M/B: Asus Z170i-PLUS
GPU: Intel HD 530
RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX DDR4 2666
SSD1: 500G Samsung 850 EVO M.2
SSD2: optional
ODD: Samsung SE-208B (external)
CASE: Antec ISK-110 (3.67lt)
PSU: 90W built in (with the power adapter)
- Mobo = not available atm

I think it would be great if companies like Silverstone, Lian Li etc could make newer/better version of Antec ISK-110 case.
- slightly smaller/lighter
- better quality case and design
- better cable management (modular?)
- 2-4x front USB3 support, instead of 4x front USB2 support
- it shouldn't be hard to make a better case cos Antec ISK-110 was released back in 2012.

Antec ISK-110: 222 x 72 x 212 mm (H/W/D) 3.67lt, 1.3kg

My personal opinion is that the market for itx cases without dedicated gpu is quite small. Not many users need such a powerful CPU like i7-6700K if they do not game. For browsing/office work a nuc/mobile processor is more than sufficient. That said, there are quite a few cases that support itx but no pci expansion, like Chieftec IX-01B , and even quality ones made from brushed aluminium. I agree thought, those are not from the known manufacturers like Lian Li of Silverstone...

I agree with Aircoookie - essentially the problem is that there aren't any pentiums and i3's with iris pro graphics so that cheap segment of low detail gaming doesn't work properly for broadwell/skylake. You either end up with cheap pentium that has slowest gpu without eDRAM or you pay to get i5/i7 which is overkill for what you need just to get the iris pro with eDRAM...

i used those case at work for new systems i was building, i5 and i3 models, 16G of memory for accounting departments and some marketing people, things flew, small form, little power, no noise, worked great.

But on the other hand, Intel annouced that 5x5 mobo a few weeks ago. There will probably be cases for them in the future.
Wow, that motherboard and a small case to go with that would be freaking awesome.
I really hope some decent case manufacturers gonna make the case for that mobo.

Does anyone know if that 5x5 mobo is socket 1150(DDR3) or 1151(DDR4)?
Hopefully it's 1150 so you can use the i7 5775C(with Iris Pro 6200).
Also I can't seem to find screw/bolt for the M.2 SSD on the mobo pic.

New Intel 5x5 Mobo System
CPU: Intel i7 5775C (65W, 3.7GHz)
HSF: Silverstone AR04
M/B: Intel 5.5" x 5.8" Motherboard
GPU: Intel Iris Pro 6200
RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX DDR3L 2133
SSD: 512GB Samsung SM951 M.2
ODD: Samsung SE-208B (external)
CASE: Silverstone PT13 (1.41lt, 186 x 42 x 181mm, 535g)
PSU: ???
Hopefully there'll be better case/heatsink for this mobo in near future, but I think Silverstone PT13+AR04 combo would be the best bet atm.

Well those cases are nice for APU systems, but to me it looks like the market is pretty much saturated already. And what could a new case like that do that others currently on the market don't?

Found a smaller version of Antec ISK-110 case, InWin BQ695.
http://www.in-win.com.tw/Corporate/en/goods.php?act=view&id=BQ695

It's got 2x USB3 ports and also come with 150W(or 120W) Internal PSU, not bad.

Don't forget AMD APU's. I think something like an A10-7800 is perfect for an ISK 110. I have one in mine and it's a solid performer for the size.

Hopefully that segment continues to develop.
