I'm trying to test out Windows 10 Home on a second partition of my computer, but Windows 10 is downloading junk around the clock in the background and I can't get anything done. I need a way to completely shut off updates and not just delay them as my internet is so slow that the updates pile up quicker than I can download them.

I'm also heard that SHUTUP10 can stop updates, but I don't know since I don't use Windows 10 (Linux Mint 18.3 and Windows 7 only).

Go to your networks settings and enable the metered connection option for whichever interface is connected to the Internet. This should stop Windows from automatically downloading most updates (critical updates will still come through), and stop also sharing those updates with others on the internet.

This tool sounds like just what I've been looking for, thanks! My internet is so slow that I'm afraid differing them wouldn't be enough. I need to shut them up.
