GTX 275 $213.32

That is debatable, of the reviews out their which card is faster depending on the game selected, how much aa is used, and the resolution played. The cards are about the same speed.

+1

Also the 4890 OC's great.

not to start a war but check [H] review of the xxx 4870 1GB and MSI 260 OC they include a 4890 and of the three the 260 comes out on top. I'm not an NV fanboy by any means I have an 4870 in my second rig and it is a great card - but a 275 beats a 4890..now the fact you can get a 4890 for less than a 275..welll that makes it a better value. but not faster.

From Anandtech review, I put + if there is a clear winner at said resolution. If a game is within 1 frame of competitor I will not put a + for that is margin of error.

Out of a total of 21 test. 15 of them had a winner that was greater than 1 fps apart. 12 of them were won by the ati 4890. 3 of them were won by the nvidia 275. Note 2 of those 3 nvidia won were at 2560x1600 resolutions most people do not play at.

Now ATI does better when you have the AA cranked (which anandtech did on every game with the exception of crysis.) If you lower the AA nvidia performs better and will be much closer in results compared to ATI. Personally I like AA it makes the game look better and if I am shelling out 150-300 dollars for a video card I want to get AA. Even though the AA is cranked both cards are playable at almost all resolutions (with some games have problems at 2560x1600), since the frame rate is playable with AA on with both cards I assume most gamers will turn on AA (thus in my mind it is best to compare these cards with some AA on).

I can find other reviews where nvidia beats ati with these two cards. That is why I stand by my statement that the cards are about the same speed and it depends on which games, resolution, and aa you use.

And I have own ati and nvidia cards. Currently typing this on a computer with a 9600gt. I have purchased a 4890 for my new upcoming computer but am still waiting for my new motherboard, i7, power supply, and second 4890 (my purchasing finger couldn't resist the xfx ewiz deal of yesterday)

i think the tiebreaker between the 275 and 4890 is going to be the oc ability of the 4890. in most reviews those sliders went pretty far to the right. i read four reviews of the card and all of them hit the ati limit of 985.

still bought this card though. you could try stacking this $15 rebate form:

the terms say all participating u.s. e-tailers, which is kind of ambiguous.
