Very very frequently when Chrome loads a webpage, the entire screen will be black and ive got to scroll or zoom before I can actually see the page. Any ideas or tips on how to fix this issue?

Wiping Cache Partition: This may apply to your Samsung phone running Android 7.

At this stage only wipe the cache partition. Performing a factory reset should be considered only as a last resort measure when all else fails.

Assessing problem in Safe Mode:

I own two identical models of this same phone. I performed a factory reset on my second one tonight. Browsed the internet for 20 minutes and am allready having the chrome black screen glitch again exactly the same as my primary phone. Any other ideas to try?

Rule out a Chrome version conflict.

> Go to Google Play
> Type Chrome in the Google Play search bar.
> Tap the Uninstall tab
> When asked, Do you want to uninstall all updates to the Android system app? Tap OK.

You will then be running an older version of Chrome that is archived on Google Play. If running with the old version of Chrome takes care of the problem, you can run with the old version and await a future version to try.

At any time you can update to the current version by returning to Google Play and updating it, or by responding to the "An update to Chrome is available for download" notifications.

The Chrome version-related black screen bug has been appearing periodically for quite some time. The following related video was published on Dec 24, 2013.
