I'm looking at an SB-E but they are rumored to have a TDP of 180W so they might run pretty hot. I want to build a completely out of left field case for it with an innovative cooling solution which hasn't been widely applied yet just to see if it can be done. I've been reviewing all sorts of different tech which to the best of my knowledge has not been popularly applied to CPU cooling and I'm coming up with:

Vapor Chambers
Vapor Towers
Methanol Heat Pipes
Axially Grooved Heat Pipes
Annealed Pyrolytic Graphite
Cold Plates

So my questions are:

1) Other than the fact that many of these can cost more than an entire system, why have they not been produced yet?

2) Are there any other technologies out there that are promising but not yet on the market?

3) Have any DIY wizards played with any of these on their systems?

Any info would be appreciated!
