Asus Rog viii dark hero ?

quick ? so the power connectors for the cpu at the top of the mb there is a 8 pin and 4 pin which i had both plugged in, but today i got a new power supply hx 1200 and there is no 4 pin single end for that plug, i plugged the 8 pin in but no 4 pin is this ok? do i need the 4 pin plugged in as well? Everything working fine...

I have the original VIII Hero a single 8pin eps will deliver 250 watts continuous and 280 watts peak with the extra 4 pin you add a bit less than 1/2 the 8 pin 134 watts continuous. An overclocked 5950x peak wattage at 100% multi threaded load will max out under 200 watts. Bottom line you do not need the 4 pin eps unless you want to try some LN2.

You don't need to plug in the additional 4-pin EPS for normal everyday use. It's really there for LN2 overclocking.
