Anandtech: z270 will not support CFL

SKL wasn't supported on Z97
HSW wasn't supported on Z77
Sandy wasn't supported on X58/P55
I think it's a bit late to start complaining about these practices. The only place Intel will understand is if you hit them in their wallet

It's one thing to look at a platform that has different pins, but isn't Coffee Lake supposed to still be 1151?

Those are different sockets altogether, so fair enough.
Plus some introduced new features (eg. FIVR in Haswell).

Z270 -> Z370 is Brian Krzanich running low on hooker and blow money ;)
 
Exactly, there is no difference between the two chipsets other than the numbers 2 and 3. Most motherboards already have the required VRM as required by the new chip. It is simply a money grab by Intel.

Yea my Asrock z170m OC does not have enough power delivery.
