AMD's first RDNA GPU chip with HBM. It looks like full fat Navi (40 CUs) with HBM support.

Czech website diit.cz speculates that Navi 12 could be custom gpu for Apple / Microsoft mobile devices.
It is rumoured to have much lower base clocks and HBM memory too.

Given the narrow price bands in desktop AMD GPUs, I don't expect AMD to release brand new sku between 5500 XT & 5600 XT, in the desktop space.


Navi 12 running at only 1144 MHz appeared in the CompuBench test database

Its results correspond to 2304 stream processors clocked about a third lower than the Radeon RX 5700, except for the Local Tone Mapping 2k test, where Navi 12 comes out as faster than the Radeon RX 5700. This could be due to either faster HBM2 memories or the optimization of (newer) drivers used for testing Navi 12

a rather interesting post that’s appeared on ChipHell from ‘Zoo’ who is a technical employee at AMD. According to him, Navi 12 is essentially Navi 10 – but features HBM2 memory and curiously, seems to be only designed for Apple.

The Radeon Pro 5600M is advertised with a total graphics power (TGP) of 50W, identical to the TGP of the Radeon Pro 5500M and the Radeon Pro 5300M, both based on the Navi 14 die which contains much less compute units. This makes the 5600M an incredibly performant and efficient design.

The new Radeon Pro 5600 is now available inside of Apple’s MacBook Pro 16” as an option, and comes at a $700 mark-up versus the default Radeon Pro 5500M GPU

This is a big deal -- it'd have been nice if Apple bumped the CPUs at the same time, but you'll get a lot more oomph for anything GPU-intensive. I'd argue that it's the only option you should choose if you want to upgrade past the base GPU in a given config.

Can you show me where you're seeing that? I'm seeing it's numbers at 2060 mobile, which is still a 80-90 watt chip, in the limited testing NotebookCheck has. I'm just interested in the actual performance, thanks for any info!

2070 or 2060 level is amazingly impressive for 50W, it demonstrates the first time AMD has taken a lead over Nvidia in what is the most important market, really showing what 7nm can do. No wonder they left this for last also, it probably needed as many good dies as possible. This is a bit like the Athlon XP mobile or Pentium mobile back in the days, I'd love to see a sff version or mobile capable of high OCs. Voltage on this must be so low..
 
Wow. I'd kill to see a desktop version of this chip, even if it was only earmarked for workstation designs.
