Just keep an eye on moore's law is dead. He has been dead on with every single AMD leak in the last year.

If the rumored specs are correct I'm expecting the 6700XT to keep up with or beat the 3060Ti on rasterization after doing a few back of the napkin calculations. The 3080 and 6800XT are both set as 100% since they're pretty close to each other in benchmarks, plus we can't directly compare core/CU counts or clockspeed across architectures and AMD's Infinity Cache turns direct comparisons of memory bandwidth into semi-rubbish. So AMD card %s are relative to the 6800XT and NV card %s are relative to the 3080.

yeah, watch the mlid podcast or youtube blips if you can, quoting him often takes anything he's saying way out of context as he always describes how and why he arrives at particular decisions. Toms doesn't have the best track record with nuetrality either so i tend to ignore their articles written after 2006.

The first comment under the linked TechpowerUp post, claims that this is in the range of the RTX 3070 (in Ashes of Singularity)

"AMD's mysterious Nashira Summit GPU has been spotted in Ashes of the Singularity database. A similarly named Nashira Point GPU has appeared some time ago on the USB-IF website, which was also a mysterious product in AMD's Radeon graphics processors lineup. The Nashira Summit and Nashira Point seem to be a part of the common Nashira GPU family, which is presumably a codename for a lower-end Navi 22 or Navi 23 GPU models. Today, we managed to get a Nashira Summit score in the Ashes of the Singularity database. The GPU has been put through a set of AotS benchmarks and we have the scores. Unfortunately, tests have been run using all-custom settings, so it is impossible to compare it to some other GPU as a reference. The test was probably performed by AMD or some AIB. So far it is impossible to distinct whatever this is a mobile or a desktop product as both mobile and desktop GPUs are tested in the same manner. It remains a question what the mysterious Nashira Summit GPU is, so we have to wait for more information to find out."

Navi 23 class GPU to be used in Tesla.

But only 8 GB VRAM & not 12 GB. Maybe it is the mobile version !?

Tesla to use Navi 23 class GPU in its cars. You can even play cyberpunk 2077 on it

Tesla has announced a new version of the Model S that not only features a completely redesigned interior and stalk-less steering wheel, but an infotainment center that boasts just as much graphics power as a PlayStation 5 (10.3 TFLOPS). According to promotional images and a tweet from CEO Elon Musk, the system is powerful enough to play modern games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which should be a great way to kill time while charging and idling in the parking lot.

https://www.thefpsreview.com/2021/0...ay-cyberpunk-2077-reportedly-amd-gpu-powered/

Patrick Schur posted a diagram, which appears to confirm that Tesla will be using AMD Navi 23 GPU for its onboard entertainment and (possibly) navigation systems.

The newest rumors suggest that the XT cards will get 12gb vram, while the non XT ones will get 6:

RX 6700 XT 12gb
RX 6700 6gb
RX 6600 XT 12gb
RX 6600 6gb

This could make some sense if priced appropriately. The 6gb 6700 will need an attractive price vs the 3060 with double the memory though... Can't possibly go over $299.

https://videocardz.com/newz/powerco...b-and-rx-6700-6gb-graphics-card-appear-at-eec

I am guessing this is how AMD will position these cards:

RX 6700 XT 12gb vs RTX 3070 8gb
RX 6700 6gb vs RTX 3060ti 8gb
RX 6600 XT 12gb vs RTX 3060 12gb
RX 6600 6gb vs RTX 3050 6gb

That's pretty much what I expected after some back of the napkin calculations comparing it to other 6000 series AMD cards and comparing the relative performance of 3000 series NV cards. I figured it would generally beat a 3060Ti and be back and forth against a 3070. At least some things in the world of video cards are still sane.

Based on the memory information, I'd think that it wouldn't be as capable of a miner card as the 5700 series so that might help with availability.

Well this is depressing:

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Required for Ray-Tracing in Resident Evil Village

https://www.hardwaretimes.com/amd-r...red-for-ray-tracing-in-resident-evil-village/

So what about people who paid scalpers prices of around a grand for a 6800 non-XT card?
And it seems the 6700XT isn't going to cut it for sure, so what is the point?
I would wait until the cards and game is available to see how it performs. Too much guesswork beforehand. Might be a good title to finally have a feel for the RT capability of RNDA2 cards with a game designed for it.

Just got back 30 min ago from my local MC on the East Coast -- got there 7:21am EST, had a reference RX 6700 XT (from Sapphire) in my hands by 9:45am (for $479 USD). And there were guys behind me that got reference cards, too -- definitely not some paper launch.

Microcenter's QR check-in process officially started @ 7:30am, and my turn came up around 8am (I was in the 20s, in terms of list). They texted me at 9:36am; worked quite well (got breakfast @ the local McDonalds, a 2 min walk away, while I was waiting).
My local MC had Sapphire & AsRock for their 6700 XT reference providers; rest were all AIB customs, starting @ $779 USD.

There was one EVGA RTX 3070 up for grabs, but that went fast (well before it was my turn to get my card, from what I saw).

Given the short line, and relatively quick process, it looks like a lot of folks really bought into the mildly negative reviews on the RX 6700 XT.

All releases had decent stock for launch. Afterwards they have a very slow trickle. Especially for AMD cards. Mine showing all showed out but 24 power color cards that were $820.

I got one from AMD.com for $600 CAD ($660 CAD shipped including taxes). The site was getting hammered and I had a lot of 503 errors but the order went through eventually.

Checking my local MC right now, they have only 1 reference card @ $479USD and 12 Powercolor Red Devils @ $819USD -- but I just talked on Discord w/a guy who was just there, and he says that there's only 1 Red Devil left; no other RX 6700 XTs whatsoever (website is probably updated slowly, as expected).

Oh yeah, no way is the RX 6700 XT worth $779 USD and up. Only way that'd even work, is if you can buy the 6700 XT at that inflated price, sell your old video card, and still come out with at least a 10% or more profit.
Otherwise, heck no.

Good god. First navi22 at nearly $500 yet lacking ai up scaling, other features like Nvidia’s noise suppression for video calls... now navi23 has a 128bit memory, tiny chip size and it’s expected to go for $380???

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-nav...ssors-and-8gb-gddr6-memory-to-launch-in-april

look I’m the first person to criticize Nvidia’s crappy practices, but Amd is making them look like the budget brand with a $330 3060. This is no longer about shortages, these are deliberate pricing structures. What is even happening? Rx 480 was a similarly sized chip with a 256bit bus and cost $200-250.

are these companies just pushing us to buy consoles???

LOL. Yeah, let me know where those at SEP are for sale a day after launch. SEP is an illusion and means NOTHING.

The partner cards of 6700 XT are officially priced at equivalent of what the 2080 super used to sell (last year)
& performance is also in line with that

Effectively official price remains same as last year for same performance bracket

And that has to do what with the SEP of 3060 cards that was the point of the discussion your quoted?

I am not sure about 3060

But regarding the 6700 XT, I think the market can settle to the official AIB price (~$800) within 1 quarter

So my observation is that in 3 months time we will be back to where we were 1 year ago in terms of both performance & price

Nope. I think this might be the new norm til next generation cards come out. Even then we might not get a reset in the market. Mining craze has had fucking blew the demand even higher then it was.

I never even saw a newegg drop yesterday. I think they held everything for the shuffle. You took your chances there if you wanted one.

Best Buy had a drop and I had two tabs where I got an add to cart eventually however clicking it did nothing. May have been a browser issue (firefox) on my end, not sure. When I refreshed eventually it was gone out of stock.

AMD's website was a trash fire of 503 errors, being unable to add to cart, etc.. The typical experience there. Some people were somehow able to get through it, most of us were screwed.

My AMD.com order arrived today:

6700XT.jpeg

I'll run it in my main rig for the next week or so and then switch back to the 3080. I'm curious how it will compare.

Here, I just saved you hours of testing:

Laughed a little seeing the 6700 XT beating the 3080 on certain games/resolutions. Also surprised at how well it can be playable in 4K, even with max settings depending upon game. Also realized how stupid a 6900 XT is for a 1440p 144hz monitor :(

I am guessing this is how AMD will position these cards:

RX 6700 XT 12gb vs RTX 3070 8gb
RX 6700 6gb vs RTX 3060ti 8gb
RX 6600 XT 12gb vs RTX 3060 12gb
RX 6600 6gb vs RTX 3050 6gb

Where did you get this nonsense?
Confirmation of the 6700 6 GB here:
https://www.techpowerup.com/280016/...xt-fighter-pictured-confirms-6-gb-memory-size
This will probably be the new mainstream card which us disappointing for many but it the situation we are in. I know there is ALOT of sellers remorse around here

As for the 6600 series, I would imagine 128 bit cards for those. And yes, there will be an 8 GB 6600 class card that will have more vram than the higher performing 6 GB 6700. I am really not sure why people are so blown away when this happens.

I am expecting the 128 bit cards to be the 6500 series

Very suspicious of the 6700 6gb. Not sure if it is OEM only & not for retail sale

The 6600 cards will likely be cut down Navi 22
If that is the case then it makes sense for a 6600 XT 12gb & 6600 6gb

Having 2 192 bit cards is more than AMD has ever had already so very doubtful they will have 4. The 6700 is already a cut down 6700xt.

Furthermore, Navi 23 mobile rumors are coming out and they have 8 GB of vram (128 bit).
