$1k budget - Want to upgrade my MSI GS with a 970m. Need more gpu

Edit: Found a 2019 Razer blade 15 mecury white with a 2070 maxq for 1400 at best buy.

So I have a MSI GS6-something with a 5th gen i7 and a 970m. I absolutely love this laptop because its slim and light.
I have no issues buying used but does anyone have a reccomendation for atleast a GPU that will give me more power? Games like COD:warfare are what i mostly play on a 27" 144hz monitor. Id like the laptop to have a 120+ screen if possible.

It's almost always cheaper to replace the laptop then it is to upgrade the GPU (unless you have Thunderbolt 3, but then you're invested in all that expansion box crap)

1660Ti should be almost twice as fast as your 970m.

I doubt they have any refurbs left, but the Alienware 15 R3 I bought a couple years ago is a great laptop. Durable, well-built, and wasn't too pricey. I'd go for something with at least a GTX 1060 if possible. I got my refurb for around $900 two years ago, but it seems like used prices now aren't much cheaper now. But if you could get one for like $500-600 I think it's a solid laptop.

Otherwise they have a G5 RTX 2060 laptop refurb for $800. I don't believe the newer laptops are as solid, but seems like it has good reviews.

Check this out I'm thinking of getting one. BTW I owned a Alienware 15 R3 with core i7 and GTX 1070 120hz .It would thermal throttle like all 45w intel cpu's. Also the laptop weighed almost 8lbs 7.69 lbs. This HP Omen doesn't thermal throttle and weighs 5.2 lbs.
