Bottom line for me is that I replace every 5 or 6 years, with a recent exception because I elected to go for the latest and greatest. You spend thousands on hardware, why not a couple of hundred more for piece of mind , efficiency and in some cases, head room or just to avoid the use of adaptors.

I installed mine a short time ago. I like the subtle RGB on the Tuff model. Big card for sure. I also picked up the Seasonic Vertex for native support for PCIE Gen 5 to celebrate. The Vertex is a nice piece of kit and comes with cables that seem to have come straight from the cable mod factory.

Wow, I almost paid 1300 for it last Christmas and it was back ordered. Then I found the LG Ultra 45 WOLED and never looked back.

It is the only Ultra wide monitor that I know of that appears to match mine for vertical height. Dang. Well 3 or 4 year from now , I will once gain be in the hunt, perhaps by then we will have OLED in this size, the brightness to match and video cards/ cables to drive them at 240 and above.

It was one sweet monitor. The horizontal wires disappeared to my eyes after a bit. Playing Quake using a 3DFX on this looked real 3D. It was awesome. Back to the thread, I have an edu address. Are you telling me that I can buy this thing for 1300 dollars? Don't get me wrong, I love my OLED but...

I must admit that I was concerned that I would have buyer's remorse but no sir. This thing has exceeded my expectations. OLED if you are a gamer hands down. The response times, blacks and vivid colors are breath taking. Your mileage may vary as I have the perfect environment for it.

I went 40 series because i game 3440x1440 and i suspect the 50 series is going to be very expensive and more than i need. My gut tells me 40 series dries up soon and AI will have the same impact as mining on the 50 series and therefore and ironically, a win win since if i cannot get what i want...

Maybe I should hold onto my 3090 even though I replaced it. It might be worth a hell of a lot more in a month or two.
