I think the LED lights on the front face of the card are pointless bling since you will never be able to look at it directly with the card(s) inserted into the mobo. Unlike the G1 and MSI with LED on the top side which is always visible and observable with a see through case side panels.
Aren't their laws against vandalizing our currency

Give the Egg a week and I am confident there will be plenty of HD 5850 stock and more variety of brands if the current HD 5870 situation is a baseline.
I wanted the 3rd monitor to have as close as possible the same quality screen and technology as my other two. Even at that I am having a hard time getting the new Acer LCD to calibrate like the older two.
Depends what you are looking for? The one I bought from amazon was inexpensive but limited in the sense that it will fit a MAX 3 x 22" Wide screen LCDs but at a cost to flexibility. the flexible arms are totally stretched out so I can't really curve/tilt in the outside panels at all. Still for...
With an rumored initial yield of about 2% of the GT300 it's going to hurt for a while at least ;)

Apple adapter worked fine for me with the min-DP to DP cable from CA but I too was aware of Kyle's experience and overthe weekend also bought a Dell adapter for $70 ( Dell 15% coupon + Bing Cashback).
I was able to test both (Apple and Dell Bizlink) yesterday and they were interchangeable...
looks more like either Newegg anticipated or all early adopters jumped on the HD 5870 bandwagon so much so as to weaken initial demand for the HD 5850.
I chose to go with the HD 5870 mainly for the most powerful single GPU solution for 3 monitor Eyefinity.
Good luck to all with their HD...
After a Week since launch all cards (7 brands of HD 5870) Now in Stock at the Egg.
I would call this a successful enough launch.
now let's see how well the HD 5850 do this week
I don't know what customer service is like at the New Circuit City (Tigerdirect in CC costume) but I got a bad Sapphire card and I am glad I'm dealing with Newegg based on past returns and replacements that all went very very well.
Keep the NewEgg XFX good karma
Arrgh I have to RMA my Sapphire HD 5870 back to Newegg
The texture flickering and polygon flashing is getting worse and worse. Even my initial temporary fix of increasing fan speed isn't working anymore.
Luckily I have a 7 day business trip next week so hopefully Newegg will be...
Unlike Kyle's experience I was able to successfully use with my Apple Active Mini-Display Port to DVI adapter with this http://estore.circuitassembly.com/pr...ter-Cable.html which looks like the same cable Kyle used
I'm using DVI+HDMI+DP and it works and the 3x 1 option appeared.
Tested out...
Mine flickers at Stock Speeds but manually overiding the fan speed a notch higher and the flickering textures go away. I am going to wait a few weeks before RMA for fear of not getting an immediate replacement from Newegg.
Picked up this cable Mini-Display port Female to Male Display Port locally to use with my Apple Active Mini-Display Port to DVI adapter.

Did a quick test at lunch at it works and the 3x 1...
I bought an Apple Mini-DP to DVI active cable and today I am going to pick up from a local distributer a Min-DP to DP cable. Will find out if the Apple cable is any good.
just in case I did put in an order for the Dell DP to DVI active cable with a 15% off coupon and sprung for overnight...
I wasn't overclocking but on default settings with the side cover off my full tower case.
Was getting texture video corruptions from over heating. I had to manual tweak the fan higher % to remove the issue. This is my first new videocard where this has happened on factory default settings...
You misread me. I know very well you can't do DVI+DVI+HDMI. never said I did that.
Again I have tried DVI+DVI+DP and I have also tried DVI+HDMI+DP.
Again with either of the above triple monitor connections I can make any 2 work proving that each and every single connection works so that is...
Ok No Change. Windows 7 sees all 3 monitors, ATI sees all 3 monitors but the only display group being is offered is 2x1. It can be any 2 of the 3 (DVI+DP or DVI+DVI) but for the life of me I cannot get all 3 for 3x1.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. no change.
Even Windows 7...
Small Update: During Lunch I had 15 mins to install my 3rd 22" 1680x1050 with the Displayport to Female DVI attached to a Male to Male DVI cable. So I have now 3 X 22" 1680x1050 monitors with a combination of DVI + DVI + DP connections to the HD 5870.
ATI CCC detects all 3 properly - Model name...
I stopped playing WOW a few years ago but just re-activated my account for some WoW Eyefinity Triple LCD goodness. Last night just with 2 LCD's was great but not optimal since I was centered on the monitor split but with the info windows all open and not in my line of sight was great and the...
I will know tonight if your statement is true as I have a passive DP to DVI cable and a 3rd LCD arriving from Amazon this afternoon. Will update. ;)
my understanding is that passive is ok up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. Since i will be adding a 3rd 1680 x 1050 i should be more than alright.
It...
Well I have 2 x 1680x1050 running in Eyefinity 3360x1050 yesterday and tonight adding a 3rd for Eyefinity 5040x1050. All I can say is I maxed all Crysis Video options with 3360x1050 and I was averaging in the 20s FPS. I also tested WOW at ultra Video settings and I was below 60 FPS with...
Alright figured it out. I had by habit immediately extended my desktop using the multi-monitor setting but that is where I messed up.
CCC Help menu for Eyefinity if you select Help Contents you will find it.
About ATI Eyefinity Technology and Display Groups
"To configure properties for...
Just installed Sapphire HD 5870 and 2 DVI connected 22" LCD monitors and another on the way for tomorrow.
I do not see any Eyefinity Tabs or options in CCC which I just downloaded from ATI.
Sapphire paper manual is useless and the Driver CD PDF manual doesn't even apply to the HD 5870 but...
Newegg rules! Mine is on the UPS Truck for delivery today. Ordered Wednesday evening with regular shipping. I must admit, I was tempted to go with ZZF since they had the product page up before Newegg did but the Sapphire popped up on Newegg and the rest is history. Good luck with the ZZF fiasco
XFX HD 5870 via Amazon from Tigerdirect shows "Instock" yet if you go to TD website it's showing Pre-order.

I read in one of the reviews that Eyefinity in CrossFire isn't quite ready yet. Not sure what that meant but I am awaiting more HD 5870 Eyefinity and Crossfire Eyefinity reviews.
