General: Perfect (though limited) Heat, perfect eBay, perfect Paypal, bunches of forum/personal/business refs available upon request. I guarantee shipment same or next business day payment is received via insured UPS ground. I accept paypal, checks, cash in person, etc. but checks need to...
VERY comfortable and very accurate...very smooth on the Icemat too. Replaced an MX 1000 with it myself and couldn't be happier. I use it a lot more stuff than I could use the 1000 for (vs. my tablet) - which is saying a lot because the 1000 is hardly a crappy mouse. I say get one :)
Heh...Mx Revo :D
Desk and rack are Anthro - really well built, if overpriced at retail..about 2K of stuff there. Good thing I paid nothing for the desk and less than $200 for the rack. Craigslist FTW!
Ikea stuff rocks too though... the Jerker I had before I got that desk. You can see it...
The Mac Pro turned up at a screaming bargain from a friend, so it's now replaced the mainstay X5DA8/Dual 3.2 Gallatin rig I've been using for years along side the G5. That was the last of my homebrew Duallies still used regularly for production so this is a say day :( Sorta.. I love the MP to...
Finally got the stuff set up how I want it, including new keyboard + keycaps and the banner, etc. Mac Pro is a quad 3.0/8GB with GF7300 until the 8800 is available for it. G5 is DC 2.3/5.5GB. Desk and rack are anthro :)

MSI K7D Master Dual 462 Mobo - $80 + shipping
Awesome board..my mainstay until it blew some caps. I decided to upgrade but had the caps replaced (and significantly upgraded from the garbage that was there originally) and the board has rocked ever since.
AMD Athlon MP 2400+ (Legit retail)...
Compaq 8-port KVM: SOLD
Seagate Cheetah 10K.6, ST336607LC, 36GB: $50 + shipping
- Works perfectly, damn quick
(2) Yokohama Avid V4S Tires, nearly new: 225/50VR16, $150 + shipping (paid twice that :o)
Bought for my bird which I no longer have..seriously havent even seen 100...
General Stuff:
All prices are OR BEST OFFER, but I think they're pretty fair based on completed ebay and other forum traffic. Don't lowball but make offers. I'll take paypal, money order or check (but I'm not shipping until it clears), or cash in person..which I recommend if possible. Most...
I've got an Intel 7505VB2 in need of a pair of CPUs. It'll fold beside the rest of my fleet should I accidentally end up with a pair :o
Are umm...trades out of the question? Perhaps um...overly generous compensation for shipping and handling?
Couple cheap things I need:
- OBTAINED 2 pairs, Intel Xeon S603/604 (400/533 FSB) heatsink retention brackets (the plastic end brackets that clip through the holes in the board that the heatsink in turn mounts to). Also 2 pairs of the metal spring clips that attach the sinks to them...
So I run IT for GES Exposition (who puts on Macworld and just about every other show in the city)...and since I finished up early today I figured I'd snap some pics.
I couldn't get anything of the apple compound...damn thing was covered in so many drapes and security everywhere :( Not...
So I have a pair of Thermalright SI-9XV heatsinks (the sideways 92mm heatpipe variety) for my Xeons..I got them because the Supermicro's I run are hard-pressed to keep my new 3.2 Gallatins cool without a stupid amount of air over them. Heatsinks shown here...
I'm good friends with a recent CS grad who works for Intel...his last three systems have been a Duron 700, a T-bird 1.33 and an A64.
He would conceed, like anyone with half a business brain though, that Intel is a far better run company than AMD :p
Will do this on my dual 3.2 Gallatin tonight
edit: If I every get out of work
edit2:
CS2, Dual 3.2/1MB/533, Supermicro X5DA8, 1.5GB PC2100 Reg. ECC == 34 Seconds :D
Not bad for a shared-bus duallie with no memory bandwidth :p
is a blathering idiot.
And that's the end of that.
Anyone who can't assemble a box, with either platform, that's at least reasonably reliable, reasonably quiet, and reasonably cool has no business running anything but a dell.
But my opinion of Intel chipsets vs. everything else stands...
Stupid answer: I own Intel stock
Short answer: Xeons are still faster, at most (if not all) price points for the apps I use v. Opterons
Medium answer: I invested a sizable amount of money in a high end board a couple years back and have recently upgraded it to the...
Not saying pxc is wrong...that may in fact be what's in it. My sager (since sold) had a fully normal desktop-spec CPU in it...that's the only reason I figured yours might be. Its either what pxc said, or a full-issue desktop one, either way.
Open it and look? :p
Either way you have the...
Well, being a 3.06GHz part (and HT enabled) makes it a pentium 4. A 533MHz FSB P4 at that. This, and being a Sager, makes it a desktop-spec part, meaning yes, it sucks down the juice  IIRC, P4-M's aren't made in this specificaion, and even if they were, Sagers use desktop CPUs almost...
It's been said before. Give it time.
It should be noted that since I last posted (with a legit FX2000), I now run a softmodded 6800GT @ 4000 'Ultra' without incident.
I run a legit FireGL X1 @ X2 in another box, and a softmodded 9800 @ X2 in another still.
