Combo.
I usually let Windows update do its thing and then snag drivers directly for various elements (Mobo, GPU, Intel/AMD, Soundcard etc etc etc). Probably helps that I'm not running much of anything I expect Windows update to mess up.
Prebuilt hardware from some one like Dell...after Windows...
Yes and no? They likely won't release an update to remove it, but your not going to be able to download or install it anymore from Microsoft. Plus the entirety of Windows 10 support ends in October of 2025 anyway. Plenty of time to upgrade though.
Likely due to oddities with nVidia and DSC. Switch to 8-bit colour and make sure your connected to HDMi 2 or 3 on the monitor and then see if you can make it work.
RTings noted these sorta oddities as well.

Maybe, maybe not. Could speculate to a DP4a fallback (like XeSS). With a further fallback to the non-AI method used in FSR 2/3. Providing a solution with an even broader reach.
And that is totally fair. But with the recent announcement of the sort of data Meta is going to start collecting on Quest users it is a potentially viable alternative as a wired solution. Especially if your already a PS5 owner.
Sony bringing official PC support to the PSVR2 feels awfully tempting. Wired, but the specs on the headset alone is drool worthy for a VR headset.

🤤. Shame no one is really copying the knuckles concept from Valve :(
Aaaaand it is not an upscaler, it looks like MS's version, fork, take? of Streamline

Those are not really for your typical x86 computers we all use. But fair enough
Yeah, to late. Pandora's box on that one opened years ago and closing it is never going to happen. Your gonna have to go luddite to avoid now.
I've never seen anywhere sharing them either. I'd venture a guess that Creative Labs doesn't really have the budget to keep making new profiles. Not that I personally use em... I usually just want the same level of SBX, with a touch of bass boost and leave the rest off. There is no game where...
I mean... he nails in the video. It 1000% is marketing and about doing bigger displays. If this was for the pro-market it would be a different story. But for the consumer market... it is marketing. To be able to do crazy large TV's that are already starting to get popular in other markets.
Now that supply issues are mostly sorted out and we are back to GPU's mostly continually dropping in price as they get older... that would be a very wise choice. Especially given that Radeon and GeForce hardware will likely see a big price drop when the GeForce Super series stuff comes out. (y)
They are going with "Solid State Storage Technology (SSSTC)" instead of "Plextor"... that sounds crazy stupid. "Solid State Storage Technology (SSSTC)" sounds like a crappy generic dollar store product.
Very nice snoopi. Try going lower on the scale with DLSS. The display resolution is half of 8k, as it is essentially two 4k displays as a single unit, and DLSS Ultra Performance's entire reason for existence was to help with 8k. So at half of 8k.... might want to try DLSS performance and see how...
When stereo content is encoded/matrixed with Pro-Logic 2 it can be properly decoded to a real independently addressable 5.1 set of sound channels. It's very clever tech and can also be a nice tool if your trying to save space on an encode and don't want to loose surround on an audio track. It...
Allot of streaming services like say Netflix will encode the stereo with DolbyProLogic 2. Which a receiver can decode into 5.1. If your lucky, your PC might support DolbyDigital Live with ProLogic2 matrix encoding to do the same thing in real-time for gaming (or DTS's "Connect" with "Neo" that...
Wasn't the digital format. It was because it was in 3D. Along with one of the first scenes being incredibly hard to watch in 3D... which was intentional for the scene (Waking up from "Hypersleep" into Zero G)... but it was kinda of a rough intro for people first experiencing something in 3D.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name add's FSR 3 with patch 1.20 the other day.

Maybe because FSR can resolve more detail because of the temporal element?... well that an DLSS, FSR and XeSS upscalers all get a little LOD boost to help compensate for the base resolution drop?
The 3D in this case should be in quotation marks. Because its "3D" in the sense that the curve is not just horizontal, it's vertical as well. So its immersion is more "3D" than before.
A problem that plagues people in the US as well. And it's at least partially why ZEOS also recommends the Edifier R1280T's... Because Swans can be unobtainium :(

Shame the demo is no longer available. It's an awesome bit of kit and I love them taking the approach of these games acting like they are going through time period upgrades in engine tech.
Because OLED. And OLED blows MiniLED outta the water... sorta... well least enough that we aren't likely going to see many manufactures push mini-LED much farther. At least not to the same sorta density as 2500 dimming zones on a 14" laptop screen. (For reference though, Because OLED is self...
You can see the sorta results you can expect on YouTube. The short answer is meh.. it should work. It boils down to having to use something like "Crossover" as a translation layer because none of those games you listed have versions that will run natively on M series hardware.

It's called an E-Marker chip. It's part of the spec for a proper cable. So lots if the cable is spec'ed properly have this sorta stuff to ensure all that :)
The Adam Savage Tested episode is misleading asf, as they compare it again a cheap USB-C charging cable... which is... well not the same thing. Apples thunderbolt cables are overpriced bullshit and no one should hand Apple the insane money they charge for them.
I've used my Sony WF-1000XM3's without any real issues on Dell's 7xxx series Latitudes (Both in Windows 10 and 11). But I have seen others struggle. If your having issues, run windows updates, including optional updates and if you really wanna be through... use the Dell Command software to...
That looks and sounds like Ascend. Weapons, lighting and even some of the terrain is reminding of layouts from Ascend. But given who they are, a formerly Hi-Rez studio, it makes sense. Also a little disappointing though, because it's just Tribes Ascend :(
I'd hope a game calling itself Tribes 3...
Allot. The Battlefield series and PlanetSide 2 have taken almost every concept Tribes pioneered and taken it to levels way beyond any Tribes.
Just a couple...
- Vehicles - Both PlanetSide 2 and Battlefield took this to logical conclusions that Tribes never managed to get to
- Maps - Sizes and...
Imho a modern Tribes would need to manage to push beyond all established Tribes. Learn from Fornite, Apex, Battlefield and Planetside 2 and bring a new experience. Because those game all surpassed what Tribes sort of founded ages ago now.
I don't want a "retro" Tribes revival at all. Either...
No. Both because WASD wasn't the default control scheme in FutureShock (Google it) and it wasn't the first time an FPS had mouse look while running around in FPS view. Pretty sure Marathon by Bungie beat it by a year. Goes back to him being good about marketing, but it was an early example of...
