Thanks, I will have a look. I settled on Handbrake partly because it was the most recommended free app and partly because it the batch program to allow you to do a batch of videos
I know there are some other conversation about re-encoding videos to H.265 to save space but I am having issues getting the sound quality I want. I have been using Handbrake for Windows and maybe it does not have the setting I want. I am looking for 5.1 Dolby which I have seen on some other...
Like you I don't believe Plex is the End all and Be all but it is decent. You made a good point in that you like the directory view and how shows just show up. Some thing with Kodi to the point that it even tells you what has just been added.
It sounds like Plex is the major player for media servers but what about Kodi? I found plex some what combersome to set up and just use Kodi and a NAS and it I don't have to pay for Plex. Never really understood what it is that you are paying for as they have the Free version.
I find flying around on planets or in space the hardest on it but the app definitely helped although the card is still running at 99%. Either way the game is still playable... Just the human factor of always wanting to pay at the best resolution I guess
Admittedly this game is not for everyone...
I will give it a try but from what Afterburner was showing it is the Video card that is the bottleneck. I found a program called Low Specs experience and it tuned my settings in the game which helped
thanks for the info. Appreciate the reply
I actually did not come to the site for the invite. I was actually looking for Video card info which member graciously provided. The invite section was just an added bonus.
I will do my best to post but I tend to be more of a lurker I guess.

makes sense to me. I suppose as long as you look after any piece of equipment and don't abuse it, there should not be a problem. Was looking at used cards on some of the sites and in the last month they have gone through the roof. People are trying to double there money and I just don't have...
You got me thinking about this so I installed afterburner to see what is actually happening. CPU is averaging about 30% utilization but the GPU is generally at 99% utilization. Wonder if there is some tuning I can do for the video card.
thanks for the input. I did go through some of the guides but maybe you are right and it might be worth a second look. Doesn't cost anything so that is a bonus on it's own.
thanks for that. the 1070 ti used is say $450 cnd. A new RTX3060 ti gaming is on about 200 more and I would have warrant and piece of mind. Again, finding stock is the challenge
I was thinking of purchasing a Nvidia 1070 ti to add a little more life to my older PC.
I currently and running a 3770k processor with 32 gigs of ram and a GTX 680 Video card.
Not playing the current games. More No Man Sky and Vindictus.
Anything I should be weary of purchasing this card used...
I have been playing NMS for a bit now but am running in to low FPS.
My system is old
3770K processor with 32 gigs of ram and a GTX 680.
Any benefit to replacing the video card with a used 1070 ti or does the whole system need to be upgraded.
Prices seem high right now in Canada.
