This sold for a nice price... is this so rare?
GiGaBiTe thanks for comments, taking it into consideration
'I would leave it well enough alone. I would however get some protection for the board like this really cool project:

Yes, I came across this power source adapter, looking to get one...
cool stuff, I have an original one as well (not as complex as this one), but did not manage to test it yet.
Also have a k7M mobo working, happy to do some testing for this GFD clone :)
if you agree, please send me a PM (I cannot yet, as I am still new to the forum)
Nobu - thank you, wondering if XMP mode could introduce an increase of voltage, which ultimately makes the system unstable? will check the soc voltage, I did not pay any attention to this till now.
I am experiencing some strange behaviour with a new GIGABYTE X570 AUROS Pro, bundled with Ryzen 3900x stock speed (no overclocking).
Case is well ventilated, but using the AMD cooler that comes with Ryzen 3900x.
32Gb RAM, Corsair RM650 80 Plus Gold Modular power source. Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB...
thought the issue of bad caps also affected 1999/2000 motherboards - but there is also the age issue by now.
Added a new thread on vintage motherboards recapping - as I need to learn (and practice) a lot in this space :)...
Just adding a few thoughts on this topic.
The issue: I have (like many others) a bunch of moherboards/systems from different years - some looking good, some with leaking capacitors, or even older mobos with tantalum capacitors. As I want to keep these motherboard functional for next 10-20...
some esoteric ones in my view:

adding Socket 4 with...
Proper CRT not available to me (have an 19 inch one, but in my parents house, 1000+ Km away, and with lockdown still enforced - highly unlikely to get it any time soon) :(
Now my short-term challenge is to locate a suitable 2005ish motherboard socket 939 with SLI support
feels like 2005, indeed :)
@Mr. Bluntman
Much appteciated, will give a careful read before trying. Planning some motherboards recapping as well SS7, SlotA, Slot1 and Socket370 - up to Socket 462, so getting a good soldering station is on my TODO list
+ the crazines to
any good resources on recapping Voodoo cards? if none, interested to make one, as this will surely help all of us with Voodoo nostalgia and hardware? :)
Should be something like a 'HardFORUM NIB open day' competion, finaly seeing what's in the box after 20/30/40/... years
Warning: Tears could be caused by various factors, tissues required
same for me, by now I have a buch of Voodoo cards (no boxes), including Voodoo 3 2000 and 3000 (AGP and PCI), Voodoo 5 5500 AGP, Banshee. Missing an early Voodoo and possibly will look for a Voodoo 2 at some stage :)
These come handy for the retro builds I do
the cheap[er] one - https://www.ebay.com/itm/3DFX-Voodoo-5-5500-AGP-64MB-Dual-SLI-Complete-w-Box-CD-Y-cable-Untested/303709358249?hash=item46b67d08a9:g:2lIAAOSwJodfblZ4
wondering why so much for this one (sealed box maybe?) -...
Correction done, I meant 7800 GTX as model of card, as I have the XFX one clocked higher than all other model launched back then.
Will look to get another 7800 GTX to play with SLI :)
It came to me as an aftertought - I think I will I need a second mobo for this build/experiment, one that supports SLI.
Any suggestions for a reliable AM2/AM3/AM3+ motherboard with SLI support?
had the opposite experience: I got my first computer with Pentium 233, a week later I replace it with K6 266 and for next 10 years I was hooked on AMD CPUs :)
got nearly every version of K6 in my machine, with a late motherboard upgrade - skipped the K7 SlotA years - and went with Socket 462...
Noob question here (never did an SLI setup) - can two Geforce 7800 GTX cards from diferent vendors be used?
Say XFX version (which is clocked higher than the rest) and the Gibabye one - 256MB VRAM each.

going retro for good :)
to stay true to my goal for a powerful AMD 2010 machine (as powerful as it can get, of course - call it 2010 AMD Dream Machine), cannot touch the FX-8370 or FX-9590 CPUs in this project (2014, respectively 2013).
So, getting close to settling for ASUS M4A79 Deluxe with 790FX chipset.
CPUs to...
No FPU, first Nexgen CPUs did not have it integrated. The second chip is the NxVL chipset, not an FPU.
Nexgen PF version included an FPU.

Indeed, 2 Intel CPUs served me fine for intensive pentest work for those years, plus security assessmnet for virtualised solutions. I did stay away from excel work, that is deadly ;)
Think you are right, I got one ASUS M4A79 Deluxe with 790FX chipset so far, so that will get me started.
Will look for a 970FX chipset mobo for the FX flavours.
