Great, other than for very fast-moving games where you want a monitor with the best motion clarity, or if you want the best HDR quality. If you don't require top motion clarity or HDR quality, this monitor is a great choice - the right size and resolution.
I just set up mine, and started using it. I also have the LG 40WP95C. The U4025QW is a nice upgrade.
The contrast improvement with IPS Black is somewhat minor, but still noticeable. It's nice to get 120Hz instead of 72Hz. The brightness is higher in both SDR and HDR. HDR quality is pretty...
Right - who knows. Mine is about to arrive, so I'll see. I'm guessing something was wrong with the laptopmag test, but not sure. I don't really care much about SDR brightness, so not a big deal for me one way or the other, but I'm curious. Since the HDR is brighter than on the previous panel (as...
I use it at the same distance as other monitors - haven't noticed a need to push it back. No issues with the edges for me. I have to turn my head, but that's fine - I have to turn my head with the 40" Dell as well, just less.
That depends on what you do with the monitor. The motion clarity really matters only in fast-moving games (Doom Eternal, etc.) If that's not your main use, the brightness matters much more (for HDR games and videos).
No, and they don't fix the HDR brightness issue either (DisplayHDR 400). However, if you care most about contrast and motion clarity, they're a good option.
I found this monitor to be too wide for games like this. The areas on the sides are distorted, and pointless anyway because of being too far from the area you can actually focus on while playing.
I updated to firmware version 1003.0. I haven't noticed any differences so far. I also updated to driver version 545.84 (the latest) for my 4090. I still can't go over 120Hz over HDMI
The viewing angle problem is quite noticeable if you move away from the ideal position, but minor if you stay in the sweet spot.
The slightly grainy coating is also acceptable to me. The picture is still very clear, and the contrast is noticeably better than on my IPS panels.
I haven't gamed...
I just started using mine. Haven't had the chance to test it carefully, but I like what I see so far.
I don't see any scan lines at 120Hz. I can't test it at 240Hz because I have an Nvidia card.
Viewing angles are lousy, but not an issue if you sit facing the middle of the screen. The amount...
Some people can carry refrigerators without harming themselves...
I say don't take chances with your spine. One herniated disc pressing on a nerve or the spinal cord would be enough to give you grief for the rest of your life. Not worth it.
I got mine yesterday. The box is huge and heavy. Much more so than I expected. I haven't opened it and taken the monitor out of the box yet. Looks like a daunting task which definitely needs two people.
Buggy firmware? Dead pixels galore? Dirt under the screen? Flickering madness? Just ship it and be happy. The customer may have better luck next time, or maybe the time after that, so don't worry 😉
Yeah, swapping monitors is a pain. You currently need two setups to get the best solutions for work and gaming. The new 57" 8K2K 240Hz Samsung may do well on both, but not sure yet.
The fan noise on the PG32UQX was an issue for me, but my PC is silent when not gaming. I started using the XG321UG instead because it's quiet. I now use neither. I use a 40" 5K2K for work, and the 49" G9 240Hz QD-OLED for gaming. I have some other monitors that I use for gaming as well, but I...
The motion blur is noticeable, and significantly worse than on OLEDs, obviously, but not a deal breaker in my view unless you play fast-moving games a lot.
Among the issues you mentored, text quality is the biggest issue in my view with current OLED displays (other than phones and the RGB panels from the bankrupt JOLED).
