    Dell Ultrasharp U4025QW 40" 21:9 Ultrawide 5120x2160 IPS @ 120 Hz

    Yeah 3840 x 1600 is a great resolution imho, it's such a real shame that it's so unpopular with manufacturers. I'd actually prefer 38" 3840 x 1600 to 40" 5120 x 2160, but this Dell looks like a fantastic productivity screen. Just a shame it's so expensive.

    What is "Wall Mountable" ?????????????????????????????

Pretty much every monitor out there is VESA-compatible. Those that aren't are the exception, not the rule.

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Yep, they had control of the roadmap entirely and could have included as much or as little as they liked, and yet they still managed to produce a roadmap that showed that they are consistently failing to deliver on their plans. No wonder they binned it off - accountability fucking sucks when you...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Haha, they have dropped the pretence of being accountable entirely 🤣 And the day after that announcement, they announce yet another ship sale 🤣 Which will bring even more cash into Chris's pockets 🤣 You really couldn't make this shit up.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Appreciate the response, as I appreciate all of the responses from you and wahaha360 over the years. I understand that there will have been good business reasons behind stopping production, and I don't know the details of the arrangements you have with Lian Li and how viable it might have been...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Ah, that's disappointing. Appreciate your efforts though. As an aside, I find the whole situation with the M1 suddenly being discontinued, seemingly completely out of the blue and without any real explanation as to why, to be a sad end for this iconic case. That, combined with the horrible...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Apologies for the necrobump, but did this "part 2" ever come to fruition? I had a hunt about on SFFNet but couldn't see anything...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

It's pretty obvious that in this context, "being out", "finished" or "released" means v1.0 rather than "no more updates of any kind ever". And there's certainly no sign that v1.0 is going to appear any time soon. God only knows how much more cash they will have milked from the userbase by then...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Good interview, thanks for sharing :) Still quite confused about these "additional factors" that led to the M1 being discontinued, especially as the decision evidently wasn't Necere's. But every time I read "M1 Classic" I have to fight the urge to throw up a little. I hate it so much 🤣

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks again for the response - and not just for your recent replies, but for engaging with us in this thread (and elsewhere) over the years. Really appreciate you taking the time and effort not just to design the M1 in the first place but to keep iterating based on feedback from your users. I...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks, Necere. M1 Classic is just awful imho! And I especially dislike the idea of rebranding a case after it's been discontinued... I appreciate that you probably won't be able to answer this, but is any new NCase product in the works going to be one of your designs? I only ask because I...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

That is a real shame. The end of an era. As an aside, I hate the stealth rebrand they are doing there: "M1 Classic"? Yuck. It's just the M1 to me :) If there's any other cases from Ncase (and hopefully there will be something) then surely that can have it's own name?

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

I mean, I'd imagine that the money will dry up at some point but when they're allegedly still pulling in millions per month then maybe it's fair to assume that that won't be any time soon. I would have thought that the money would have dried up by now to be perfectly honest but it still comes...

Yep, more realism does not necessarily equal more fun. And SC is a game so surely fun is the objective (from a player point of view)?

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

I still find it unbelievable that they are pulling in multiple millions of dollars in funding every month. $13m in May? Quite literally unbelievable. As an aside: can I also just say that the graph that they generate here is really poor from an informational point of view - they obviously must...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

When it comes to how easy it is to acquire these expensive ships in the finished game*, it's going to be a hard needle to thread - if they take too much grinding to obtain then the game might effectively be pay-to-win, and if they are too easy to obtain then you could end up with everyone flying...

I don't think people are posting here in the hope that CR reads their thoughts, chief. They're posting here for the same reason that everyone else does - they are shooting the shit with likeminded others :) Just like I don't think people who are coming on here and praising the game are doing so...

I guess it's also quite possible to want the game to succeed and to think that the way that it's being managed is fucking dreadful.

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

I think the thread can serve both purposes. And I think there are even people who both enjoy SC and are frustrated with its progress. I mean, there's an example of that in the post directly above your own!

This looks to be the same fan setup that I use (albeit with a 2070 rather than a 3090, and a different CPU). Do you have the fans underneath the card as intakes or exhausts?

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

You know that they will say "Chris needs our support now more than ever!" and put their hands in their pockets yet again. At this stage the sunk costs are so great that they will continue to fund CR until either he publicly gives up on development or SC actually launches.

As Pringle says, it's not that it's hard to believe (and I've seen more than my fair share of corporate bullshit when it comes to this sort of thing), it's that the roadmap to a roadmap is being presented as a sign that they are making progress. On a game that is x years and y millions deep in...

Yeah, for now there are enough people sufficiently invested to keep putting more in, but realistically, how long can that continue? As long as income > expenditure they're golden, but eventually all but the biggest whales must get to a point where they become unwilling or unable to continue to...

Obviously it's impossible to audit these figures, but that seems like a lot of money to pull in in a week. What would the catalyst for that have been? I know they get funding spikes in line with certain events, but what happened at the end of May to trigger such an increase in pledges? I do...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

As Nobu says, there are actually two LEDs in the power button. One is for power and the other for drive activity (incidentally, you can use either LED for either purpose), but the important thing is that LEDs have polarity so you have to connect the negative and postive pins to the correct wire...

67°C seems okay to me. Sure, you could definitely get it lower with other cooling solutions but it's not like these chips will suffer from being run in the mid-sixties.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Nice. I have a very similar setup although I attached the rear 92mm fan to the case rather than the heatsink as that seemed to make a marginal improvement - my logic was that I'd rather draw hot air out of the case directly than have the CPU fans pushing it towards the back of the case, but the...

Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

Survival mechanics feels like yet another example of a non-core gameplay feature that should be added after everything else is ticked off. I know that it's possible to work on more than one thing at once, but this just seems like another example of chucking everything and the kitchen sink into...

I have both of the fans on my U9S running on the low noise adaptors and even at full speed (1,600rpm iirc) they are not loud by any means. They're audible, but it's a quiet whoosh and far from unpleasant on the ear. The C14 is discontinued, so if you can find one then buy one.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I don't have a picture, I'm afraid. But rest assured it was as ghetto as it comes - I cut a circular section out of a plastic drinks bottle, cut it down to the required height and used tape to seal it at each end!

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I experimented with a duct between the case floor and the blower fan, to see if it made any difference, but it did not. I think that's in part because the ventilation on the floor of the M1 isn't great and the stock feet don't give much clearance which again hampers airflow. It does feel like...
