I wouldn't recommend Metis anyone(unless you plan to mod the case) because thermal on this case is terrible. GPU will get hot(and loud) very easily due to lack of air intake, and the fact that GPU is mounted at the top of the case makes it even worse since hot air will just rise to the top.
I...
Hi, got i7 5775C yesterday I was wondering if there are any ways to improve the performance on Iris Pro 6200.
I've increased "dedicated video memory" size in the BIOS and also changed the "power" settings in Graphics control panel to maximum performance after doing some google research. However...
Hope you are right, and hope Q21 case is gonna be available soon.
Anyway, changed the mobo to Gigabyte GA-Z170N-WIFI for M.2 SSD support. (its also ~$100 cheaper than EVGA Stinger ITX mobo)
Roughly how much performance increase do you get from i7 6700 setup over i7 4790 setup? 10-20% or more?
i.e. i7 4790(4GHz), Z97 mobo, 16GB DDR3 2400 vs i7 6700(4GHz), Z170 mobo, 16GB DDR4 2666
Price different between the two setup isn't much so it would really suck if your purchased new i7...
Found a smaller version of Antec ISK-110 case, InWin BQ695.
http://www.in-win.com.tw/Corporate/en/goods.php?act=view&id=BQ695
It's got 2x USB3 ports and also come with 150W(or 120W) Internal PSU, not bad.
Wow, that motherboard and a small case to go with that would be freaking awesome.
I really hope some decent case manufacturers gonna make the case for that mobo.
Does anyone know if that 5x5 mobo is socket 1150(DDR3) or 1151(DDR4)?
Hopefully it's 1150 so you can use the i7 5775C(with Iris Pro...
Because not everyone needs a gaming GPU in ITX system.
Intel NUC's performance is still relatively slow(compared to ITX) and NUC runs pretty hot and loud. (especially the i7 NUC thanks to the inadequate heatsink/fan used by Intel...
Cool thanks, I will once I get the Q21 case and GPU, unfortunately they are not available yet.
PC-Q21 case can support upto 6.5" GPU so GTX970/960 Mini will fit fine(R9 Nano is only 6") and case can support 120mm fan at the bottom. http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q21
I just hope...
Depends on the CPU TDP and ITX case type.
I think Noctua NH-L9i would be perfect for Lian Li PC-Q21 case with 65W i5 6600 or i7 6700.
But Noctua NH-D9L would be ideal for Raijintek Metis case with 91W i5 6600K or i7 6700K.
What is the rough overall performance different between 4790K system and 6700K system? 10-20% or more?
i.e. 4790K, Z97 mobo, 16GB DDR3 2400 vs 6700K, Z170 mobo, 16GB DDR4 2400
cos it sucks if you bought 4790K system in past 2-3 weeks considering the price on 4790K setup and 6700K setup is very...
heh I've changed DDR3 RAM to DDR4 already. :)
Sure you can use different Z170 ITX mobo later, but as you already know there aren't that many Z170 ITX mobo available atm and Stinger can support M.2.
I think Nano should perform well cos it's virtually identical to R9 Fury X on the paper, and priced at US$650.
Q21 doesn't have any default intake fan, so it would be best to use the bottom HDD slot for 120mm fan instead if you are planning to use any gaming GPU. Q21 can still take another SSD...
Should be easy now with Lian Li PC-Q21 and AMD Radeon R9 Nano!
What do you think?
e.g. I made two diff specs using the latest Socket 1151
Spec 1 = bang for buck, still high 3D performance
Spec 2 = $ is no issue
Spec 1
CPU: Intel i5 6600 (65W)
HSF: Noctua NH-L9i
M/B: Gigabyte...
Thanks for the replies.
No gaming is not a high priority, but I still wouldn't mind putting the best single slot GPU for the case if possible, or maybe even a dual slot card with aftermarket cooler etc.
But maybe I should start looking for a single slot 750Ti or 670.
5775C isn't a bad idea but...
Hey guys, can someone please tell me what is the best single slot GPU available atm? (there is another catch, it also has to be less than ~6.5"-7" long, but full height card is fine, i.e. doesn't have to be low-profile card)
I don't have a clue, so any suggestion would be much appreciated...
Thanks for some insightful infos, cos I never thought about the different GPU core sizes and how it effects the overall heat/temp(even on same cooler) due to conductivity etc.
However IF 670 and 960 had identical surface area, and therefore 960 runs noticeably quieter, then I would upgrade 670...
Hello, I'm trying to found out if GPUs with lower TDP will also run much cooler with the same cooling since they should produce less heat.
e.g. these 3 GPU's have different TDP ratings but I think they use identical heatsink/fan.
Asus 670 Mini - 170W TDP, 1x 8pin, 6.7"
Asus 960 Mini - 120W...
Never said I hated the look, I only said it looks very plain.
But you are right about me hating the long waiting time cos I'm planning to buy RVZ02/ML06-E if they becomes available locally before this case gets released.
I'm allow to criticize things I don't like about certain brand/model etc...
Who knows maybe he had to study for the exams or had kids to look after, or mow the lawn etc after he finished building socket 2011 in the case. But it shouldn't take 12+hours just to take some photos and upload them..
Honestly I like this case(cos its small) and I'm willing to pay premium for...
I might order one depends on the price, release date, delivery time etc. I have feeling that RVZ02, ML06-E etc will be available locally before this case gets released, then I'll probably just go for ML06-E(don't really game much now days).
But I would buy one if it was available now(if its...
lol how did you come up with the 4.5lt???
220 x 100 x 240 mm = 5.28lt, did you subtract the size of pico PSU from the overall volume? :p (fyi it should be otherway around)
p.s. why isn't volume written on the first page btw
Proper branding, better r&d, build quality, warranty...
that's stupid, probably the worst pic of RVZ02 thanks to the troll hand.
if you took the actual photo of A4 case with that same fugly troll hand and only showed middle parts of the case then it'll look uglier than the RVZ02 photo u posted.
never said RVZ02 is smaller than this case.. RVZ02 is 12.4lt fyi.
This case just looks very plain, some people prefer that look but I don't see anything special about the "look" of this case, most Lian Li cases look very plain anyway.
Personally I reckon RVZ02 looks good and...
My point is that its not technically 1.73lt smaller than ML06-E since you don't need external power adapter on ML06-E. Personally I would pick ML06-E over this despite the larger size(1.xxlt?) since I can get ML06-E and SFX PSU easily from local shops.
Size different between this case and...
It ~1.73lt smaller than ML06-E but require power adapter which should added to the overall dimension.
ISK110 comes with the 90W PSU and power adapter, which saves money and hassle, I'm gonna build ISK110 system if I can trade my 4690K to 4590T but otherwise I rather go for ML06-E, cos it's not...
Yes I understand the reasons but not everyone is cheap and unwilling to make sacrifice for smaller size. 13" GPU support for RVZ02 is still way overkill imho, and it would have been better if it was smaller and only supported 10.5" GPU, etc.
ML06-E is actually one of my fav case atm despite...
I don't think the case looks good, Silverstone RVZ02 looks much better from the front imo.
Small size is the only great thing about this case, but it's probably gonna be the most expensive case($ per volume) cos the price is gonna be higher than Lian Li PC-TU100.
Thanks for those pic Necere. You are right about the dimensions, the radiator on Hydro H55/H60/H75 is also 152mm so the height on the case have to be ~160-165mm.(and for Asus GTX Mini card too like you mentioned).
Increased the overall dimension of the case a bit to support R9 Fury X, Asus GTX...
Initially liked the case cos it's small(5.28lt) then I found out that it doesn't support SFX PSU and you have to use pico with power adapter. :(
Personally I prefer Antec ISK-110(3.7lt, but can't use GPU) or Silverstone ML06-E(7.01lt, but can use SFX-L PSU).
Firstly, this is not an official Silverstone case, it's just my proposal for new smallest gaming ITX case suited for 2015/2016.
I came up with this idea cos I'm very frustrated by the super long GPU support on most small ITX gaming cases, because I much prefer smaller case with shorter GPU...
Why wouldn't it fit R9 Fury X? radiator size? but eitherway it shouldn't be hard to fit Fury X with a small increase in dimension.
You are right about the CPU heatsink height tho, changed it from 66m to 56mm.
Unlike Dan I'm not interested in making my own case for profit etc. There is...
http://www.overclock.net/t/1566251/silverstone-sg14-7-4lt-proposal
Silverstone SG14(~7.4lt) ITX gaming case
Firstly, this is not an official Silverstone case, it's just my proposal for new smallest gaming ITX case suited for 2015/2016.
I came up with this idea cos I'm very frustrated by the...
You are right, you'll have to change the design on Dan A4 due to layout but my point was simply I prefer small volume over long GPU or SFX-L PSU support etc, and personally I'd rather have 7.1lt Dan A4 with taller CPU cooler support.
Well then you are probably gonna get frustrated by the...
Well lets use Silverstone SG13/RVZ01 cases for an example since they are probably one of the most popular current ITX gaming cases. Do you think more than 50% of all SG13/RVZ01 owners use GTX980, 980Ti, Titan?
I choose Lian Li PC-TU100(supports 195mm GPU, enough for GTX970 Mini, R9 Fury X) over...
shame... cos that original dimension was soo much better imho.
350 x 80 x 350 mm (9.8lt) vs 380 x 88 x 370 mm (12.4lt)
I really hate the fact that Silverstone ITX cases #1 priority = long GPU support.. ffs why make the case bigger just to support super long GPU? how many people use 11+"...
One question, what's the ETA???
(why does it take long to release this case? budget issue?)
Anyway one thing I don't like about the case is the length cos its designed to fit GTX980, and not everyone wants to use super long high-end GPU in ITX case.
Personally I think this case would be much...
It's nice, but personally I'd prefer small version of this case and dan a4 case cos not every SFF users install Titan/GTX980 etc and GTX970/GTX960 Mini is only 17cm/6.7" long.
Corsair makes biggest ITX cases tho, 250D is 28+lt and 380T is bigger than most small m̶o̶u̶n̶t̶a̶i̶n̶s ̶mATX cases.
Anyway, even on 250D with the radiator mounted first you would still use ~100mm shorter tubing if you made custom water cooling.
Btw...
Just had a quick look and looks like parts gonna cost more than AIO cooler, and 154x123x25-27mm size radiators aren't very common.
hmm, that might be an idea if they sell one with small radiator.
