Noob here - please help: Asus Turbo or Strix in DanA4 v2?

Dan A4 v1 owner here. I have a 1080 strix in it and in idle it is silent. Also, while gaming, the NH-L9i CPU fan gets way louder (but still not annoying). So I'd recommend the strix, however I have no experience with the turbo.

Is the SG08 the upgrade to the SG13

Hi, it is basically the other way around. The SG13 is newer than the SG08 and includes stuff like easier watercoolability. There are two versions though, one with a front vent that has good ventilation and one with a metal front plate that looks nice, however l I wouldn't recommend that version...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

There is a GPU compatibility list and IIRC it was attempted to start some spreadsheets for compatibility. For the SFX psu, the included stock cables work ok, exact lenghts needed for custom cable vary with GPU size and motherboard layout. Cable ties seem to work fine, but I'd maybe try using...

TLDR If anyone plans to go with Cryorig C7 with the A4, don't do it! Buy Noctua L9i and be happy! Today I swapped my C7 for the L9i and it really is night and day difference. At first I thought my system would not even POST, it is that silent. In idle you have to press your ear against the case...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Guys, just wanted to say my C7 developed a faint clicking/tapping noise in low RPM and the fan visually seems to spin unevenly. I think it may be damaged. It is too loud with the sidepanel for my liking too, I guess I'll try out a L9i and see if it works any better.

In your calculation you used 12 V alternating and not direct current. Thats a difference. Since almost no one ever had problems with this riser it should fully comply with the spec.

From this thread it looks like there is demand for at least 1-2K more cases. Dan, how mamy cases will you order for the next batch? By the way, thank you for my case, got it on Saturday, it's so awesome :D will participate in the HoF contest as soon as I put some LEDs in there! Asus GTX 1080...

Nothing beats the reliability of the 3M riser, and I'm grateful that it is the riser included in the A4. However it is quite expensive, so if you could lower the case price tag for future batches by using an alternative riser that works just as great as the 3M, the target group of this case can...

Delidding improves the thermal flow from the CPU to the heatsink, nothing else. It only conveys significant temperature improvements if the cooler can handle the heat. Likely the C7 or L9i capabilities will be the bottleneck here. That said, temperature will drop by a few degrees anyways because...

The only thing I don't understand is why those portable monitors are so expensive compared to normal ones. $650 for a 15.6" 4K from China while I got my 27" 4K from amazon for $450. It seems like for now everyone is better off by DIYing a portable monitor with an old laptop screen like posted in...

That's not entirely correct. There are 1530 campaign backers, since you were able to buy 2, there are even more Kickstarter cases (i think around 1650) The case numbering is random, so you have a 1 in 1920 chance getting your desired number. Still more likely than winning the lottery :D I want...

I also can't understand the fact why consumers are willing to pay almost double just because of 5 multicolor LEDs and some crappy configuration software, although it is so easy to DIY a better RGB solution (thats if you really need it) for less than $10... It's not entirely the manufacturers...

It's the Asus Z270I Strix board that is referred to. On the Skylake platform the PCIe lanes were massively extended, so multiple m.2's are no problem while maintaining x16 GPU performance. What's particulary great about this board, especially in the A4 is the m.2 slot on the top board side...

Possibly, by "assembly" he means putting the parts together, e.g. installing the riser and side panels. The main case part should have been manufactured by now since dondan already shared a picture of the production a few weeks ago. I'm glad its finally arriving on the horizon soon :D

There is next to no space between a dual-slot GPU and the panel. That is not a problem though, since the graphics card fans directly get fresh air from outside. It may be possible to fit a slim fan with a single-slot GPU, but then again, for what purpose?

It doesn't. The images are from the predecessor, the Impact VII. I recommend either using an U2 to m2 adapter or using the Z170i pro gaming. The only negative thing is that it doesn't have an USB type C port.

    Custom case questions.

Hey, great design! There are two concern I have. Firstly, as noko pointed out, there is next to no room for cabling. How much space is between the power supply and the RAM sticks? With modular connectors you need at least 3cm. Also the motherboard 24-pin connector is in the way. The second thing...

I guess if 3M failed to deliver the risers permanently for some reason, Dan will not sit there with 1500 semi-unusable cases. He could then refund the money instead because he would be unable to deliver the case as advertised. Such a big company like 3M is not likely to screw up that badly...

It is possible that the (quite large) backplate of the C7 covers the m2, although Cryorig has provided an alternate mounting kit with just screws because of compatibility problems with the MOSFETS on the backside of the Z170i Pro Gaming. m2 will fit with it. If you bought one of the first C7...

Alright guys, kinda bad news. As often requested, I quickly tried OCing my 6700K with the C7. In AIDA64 stress test I couldn't even get 4,16GHz without it thermal throttling after 2 minutes, 4,3 throttled after a minute. That said, I left voltage and everything on Auto, just increased the...
