I also plan a custom loop in this case. :) However, a pump might have to go into a BottomHat. If so, there might not be space to have fans in that BottomHat, unless you can stack BottomHats with layers to mount things on. We will see if there is enough space inside the standard case. And someone...
Looks great, make this happen. :) Don't know how the radiators are positioned, but consider variants with noise isolation on the front and top, i.e. compare to how the Define Nano S is constructed.
I also think it is easier to introduce a larger case than Ncase M1, than smaller. If smaller, I...
It's a quite nice looking board, but the wifi card has the antenna connectors too close to each other. I am not sure it is possible to use your own antennas there, which would be a shame.
For me a giant copper heatsink would stand out like Noctuas brown/beige fans, i.e. not blend in well with the theme. I am surprised not more people want a black heatsink. But on the other hand, I've learned that my sought attention to aestehtics and details is only matched by Apple. Even the...
A black cooler would surely blend much better in the case than copper color. Unless there is an obvious drawback with cost or reduced cooling ability, I had hoped it could be black if it gets crowd funded.
Likewise, if silver color, I had hoped the entire cooler could be nickel plated, and not...
Their new fan looks like a beige gentle typhoon. With Noctua's typically silent motor bearing, however, we probably get a very nice fan that doesn't suffer from gentle typhoons double ball bearing noise. But we have to continue suffer the beige/brown color instead. Unless they make a redux...
It's not worth it to make a hole for a specific card that is not even out yet. I also think it's not a good praxis to alter the case design after it's out on the kickstarter.
Too little information here to really know why your PSU died. For how long did you use the Noctua fan? Did it die under load? If so, what kind of load? You should fill in the details.
I think it would look quite fantastic if you could somehow slide down an almost edge to edge glass panel on the sides just like the dust filter slides down in the openings. It would of course need to have holes for ventilation, or otherwise fit for water cooling setups only, or get airflow from...
If supporting custom loop, I would try to see if it makes sense to support pump mounting somewhere without having the user to drill holes themselves. For example, there is a common position in the Ncase for mounting pumps (parallell to the PSU), but user has to drill holes. Of course, since...
Personally, I think tophats AND pedestals should be available for this case. They are natural extensions, and will only increase the build options for users. Compare to CaseLabs. Sure, the case might become taller in certain scenarios, but it still remains very small and unique.
I also use a Noctua l9i + 25mm Noctua 92mm redux fan and it is virtually inaudiable using a 6700K 4 GHz at 100% load in a small case. It will probably also not make any turbulence noise in the Ghost S1. I like that is a small cooler, which means I can see more of the motherboard, as well.
I think we are a bunch who feel the same. This project must succeed one way or another. I can even pay more for the case, if that means they can lower the minimum manufacturer qoute or whatever is necessary.
Backed as well. This case provides the extra quality and certain flexibility that many have desired, so it would be a shame to see it not succeed with the funding. So it's all about exposure from now on.
You can mount the PSU at bottom or top, as well. And in their latest version they seemed to perforate the bottom plate with a hole pattern to allow for better ventilation. So it might be overall better at case air flow than the A4, especially if using a TopHat with fans. Don't know if that...
Great to hear this. I assume you haven't locked down the v.2 features yet? Will the extra spot for a 92mm fan be there? Is it possible to source shorter USB internal cable from Lian Li? Or do they need to be ordered in bulk as well?
I really vote for adding support for that fan. It must help something. At least it will blow cooler air towards the PSU to make the PSU fan spin slower. the SF450/SF600 are very sensitive of ambient temperature. The fan can of course suck air out through the bottom as well.
Some more thoughts. :)
Vents in bottom could help to draw in fresh air for CPU coolers where the fan is mounted underneath the heatsink, blowing air through the heatsink and out through the side panel. This turned out to be quite successful for people in the A4 case using the now dicontinued...
I guess as a fellow swede I must chime in and say it's looking nice. :) Though, some thoughts/questions.
I like the materials and tooling you consider.
From what I understand, no ventilation holes at the bottom? Wouldn't some holes there help with air flow and temperatures?
I assume the large...
There will be mini-itx boards for Ryzen, just not now at launch I think. But they will surely come. If the TDP is as moderate as AMD claims (65-95W), I look forward to have an 8-core CPU in my Ncase. Well, I will read reviews first to ensure there is nothing shady about Ryzen, but it seems like...
I don't use the 92mm slim Noctua fan right now, but if I remember correctly, it isn't as high pitched as these fans you demonstrated. Could be wrong though.
Cooler looks quite attractive! Thermalright is able to do some good fans as well. However, I think Noctua is very experienced in the heatsink and fan department, so I wouldn't rule them out if they are interested (although I understand the argument with the 100mm Thermalright fan). They might...
Posted this feedback on SFF forum:
Don't know much about FlexATX PSU:s, but from what I have heard, they can be noisy. If they are noiser than SFX, I strongly suggest to also include support for SFX.
Great to see supported case airflow by the bottom fans. Perhaps they can help cool the FlexATX...
100RH is 51mm, 100H is 65mm. They probably use the same image for all their axp100 coolers.
Well, seems you are right. Found more pictures. The height of the 100RH is 51mm without fan, despite Thermalright saying it includes the fan, on their website.
Not sure if they include the screw top in the measurements. Typically at least another 1mm can be needed to get clearance for the mounting screws. And Thermalright with their weird color fans...
Dan ordered 1900 cases. If 1792 are going to Kickstarter, we can do the math and see that the cases going to Caseking and Overclockers will be sold out in less than 20 seconds, for a few lucky ones whose data packets on the internet were prioritized, or however it's going to work. I think it's...
