The guys who bought a 1080 or 1080 Ti should be happy that they're getting some longevity out of their cards. I'll just wait for the next generation and hope they have the new architecture all ironed out by then.
Guess I'm the odd one out. Once a year, I pull off all the key caps and clean them individually, vacuum out the base with a brush extension and clean in between the switches with cotton tips and alcohol. It's oddly therapeutic.
Good morning all. I reseated the heat sink a little while ago and I'm still getting similar idle temps. Prime had two cores throttling out after a few minutes. Didn't even hit the 10 minute mark.
Nope. No background programs running. Task manager showed next to no CPU usage. Even disabled...
I use RealTemp mainly. Just downloaded Core Temp 1.7 to double check. They're both pretty much on par.
I'll be reseating it in the morning using NT-H1 again. The fan is working properly; can hear it ramping up in prime95.
The temps were definitely above average when I first got it, though...
95c. I don't think it's seated incorrectly since these noctua heatsinks are pretty up and down. I'll reseat it in the morning when I get home from work to double check.
I've recently replaced my CPU cooler from an H60 (massive air bubble) to an NH-L9x65. The temps with the H60 were sitting over 70C at idle, so the new heatsink was pretty much mandatory. However, my 4670k is idling around 60C at stock settings. This leads me to believe there's a problem with...
Eh, I'm still sporting the ST45SF that came with my case with the fan constantly running, but it's not an issue for me. Have you considered inverting the fan? Found some info in this post on OCN.
Also, I found this article yesterday where they actually replace the stock fan with a NF-A9...
The high profile ram prevents coolers like that from fitting, unfortunately.
Cool, thanks for the info. Is your PSU orientated with the fan taking in air from the top or inside the case?
After seeing my CPU temps sitting at 70°C idle, I gave my SG05 a big old clean out just to find out there's a massive air bubble inside my H60. Anyways, I reseated it with some fresh TIM to get it in passable condition for the interim and got the temps down to 60°C. Since AIOs are a real cunt...
Yes, they went overboard with the RGB lighting and windows, but at least the case wasn't designed with XTREME water cooling setups in mind, so it's a step in the right direction.
Some more stuff from Smallformfactor.net, thanks to Phuncz. New cases from Silverstone.
The SG14. An FT03-mini refresh.
The VT01 and VT02. Cases for the new STX form factor mobo
And the RVZ03. AKA: The exact bloody same as every other RVZ slim case by Silverstone.
Thought I'd start a thread covering everything of interest at CES 2017. There's a few bits and pieces floating around already.
Zotac 1080 Mini
Shorter version of the 1080. No dimensions specified yet.

Looking at it from a manufacturers perspective, it's making a niche product based on another already niche product; not the best business decision. But it may be possible, however, through a crowd funding campaign. I'm sure EK or Swiftech or whoever would be willing to make a batch if there...
You mean something like this?
Had this concept sitting in my archive for about a year. 332mm x 303mm x 168mm, making it about 16.9L. Despite it using such a classic layout, no manufacturer has shown any interest in something like this. At least you can enjoy looking at the pretty picture...
Lian-Li finally unlocked their product page for the PC-Q37, which some of you probably saw the prototype for in a Computex video earlier this year. As usual, it's following the trend of EXTREME WATER COOLING capabilities (because everyone these days just cannot fathom an air build at all)...
Are you planning on going SLI in the future or using any other PCIe cards at all? If not, you could consinder going all the way down to ITX.
Otherwise the Rajintek Styx is worth a look.
You mean an ITX case was released that wasn't another slim clone? Well fuck me...
It's been a while since a notable tower case was released; everyone has been focusing on steam boxes and yachts that it almost seemed like a dead concept. This looks like great case for water cooling...
I've been waiting for a 24" 1080p 144hz IPS g-sync monitor for quite some time. I don't want a huge monitor on my desk or a massive resolution to stress my GPU. Smooth gameplay on a comfortable sized screen would be just fine by me.
This is something I've been meaning to test for some time, but I hypothesize that having a graphics card with an open air cooler at the bottom of the case can effectively increase the heat inside the case and ultimately on the CPU. Going with the basic law that hot air rises, the heat produced...
Let's flip the question around and see how it goes.
Why would you want an ATX PSU in an ITX case?
You already owning one is not an answer.
But if you really need to know why SFX is so desirable over ATX, I'll list a few reasons here. I'm sure others will add to it.
1. Size...
I have an Asus 670 mini in my SG05 and it spreads the heat outwards. The top and bottom of the case gets hot when it's under load. Having it orientated at the top with proper ventilation would be beneficial.
More m.2 slots would be nice for ITX boards and I think they should be with at...
1. The problem with those coolers is they blow down on to the heatsink. Nornally this isn't an issue, but in this layout, it would be fighting against the PSU fan. Inverting the PSU is an oprion, but it works better acting as an exauhst.
2. There's nothing wrong with m.2 drives, but...
1. For a case that small, AIO collers are just too impractical. You're better off using an air cooler like the nt06-pro or nh-l12.
2. Where are your drive bays going to go? M.2 is not an answer.
3. Open air GPUs like the Asus minis would be better suited at the top of the case.
