Great minds think alike. I've done that and found a few, but all are dormant since about the same time. Though I did message a couple recently, maybe I'll get lucky.
Yeah, I had a guy message me back like 5 years ago saying he had like 2 or 3, but I had forgotten to check here for a while and missed it. He asn't logged in for almost 4 years. I've messaged him a bunch, but I don't think hardforums sends like email notifications so I doubt he's seen them.
Are you happy with it as an upgrade? I've been eyeballing it for a bit. I have a 1080ti as well and wasn't sure if it is really worth the effort. Couple videos I saw seeming to imply a ~15% jump.
I looked for a beige one, and found a few, but they were either out of stock or like oddly expensive.
But that is something I've thought about, will have to see how close to beige I can find.
I've done a TON of research about ways to improve airflow without making obvious external visuals. There is JUST enough height (82.5mm) in the 2 5.25 bays that I could mount an 80mm fan there, and I actually did for a while. But I didn't like the mesh look in the bay. It made it more obvious...
I do have to admit that is a reproduction. geekenspiel on eBay made that, along with the windows 98 and AMD K6 sticker. But they are all correct to the case, before someone removed them years ago. I compared pictures to get the correct badges. (well, the Y2K is at least period correct, lol)
That rear fan was on the heat sink. That cooler was a Cryorig H7, shortest 120mm tower cooler, and it JUST BARELY fit. I didn't have an AM4 mounting kit for it and went a different route. I'm now running a noctua NH-U9S, little shorter with 2 92mm fans.
For the feet, I have added spacers to...
I have an older GTX 1080 ti I'm still squeezing life out of, pushing a 3440x1440 monitor. My case is a bit restrictive, it's an old Packard Bell Windows 98, retro sleeper idea (an older build is pictured, now it's 5600x, 16gb, 1080ti, case is the same). The only intake fan is a 120mm I added at...
I actually found all the stickers and decals on ebay for only a few bucks, they are reproductions, geekenspiel I think is the seller's name. I'm sure real ones are more then I'd like to pay.
That hole is on the bottom actually, as an intake. I thought about top cut out, but like you said, it...
Yeah my case has about 115mm cpu cooler limit. I'm running the NH-D9L, at about 110mm. It honestly is a champ. My delidded 4790k ran at 4.8 for years in that case.
The 1U seasonic PSU I have ran silent (no fan) unless it was under heavy load. I can honestly say I don't ever remember noticing...
Thanks man, I has been solid so far. The Cryorig H7 (cooler pictured) doesn't hold up quite as well as my old Scythe Mugen, but so far temps while gaming haven't peaked more then like low 70's so I think I'm good. But if I have troubles I could always put a 120mm AIO cooler mounted on the bottom...
A while back I saw a picture of someone else doing a sleeper style build and I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I eventually found this PERFECT Packard Bell case. It's all basically standard formats, mATX mobo, ATX PSU, etc. So the 'build' was rather straight forward. It has zero case fans...
It's so true, I always find myself going back to this case. I've done several builds in it over the years. It's so simple and easy to work with, I've done some rewiring of the PSU. I removed sata and molex cables, added the low profile GPU plugs (12 years ago all GPU's had the power out the...
Thanks. I know the grill could be better, that's why I haven't more permanently attached it, until I get a proper one made up. Like a mentioned, proof of concept.
I'm not trying to show off my "cool ghetto mod" with the fans/grill. The fan grill is literally the only mod I've done to it. I was...
My dad owned a business telephone repair company for a couple decades. I snagged one from his inventory and glued it on top. It's been their since I bought it. I like it, I've thought of removing it a couple times, but always end up leaving it.
So a little over 10 years ago I was at the NOR'Easter LAN tournament with my CS team and saw a booth with this case. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. It was VERY compact, especially for that time, yet used mostly standard parts. It measures just 11.5 x 11.5 x 5.5 inches (11.9L)...
Yeah, it's the foam that comes with a MOBO. I don't know how needed it really is, but the power cables routed back there could be rubbing against the board, so the idea it to prevent a cable from shorting out. I know it kind of insulates the back, but there really isn't any airflow back there...

AWESOME, thanks for the eBay lead. they make EXACTLY what I need in both 6 and 8 pin. My case is running a modular 1U server power supply, so I may be able to swap the pins out of the plug (just like that video showed) and make it look factory. This is AWESOME!
Thanks guys!
I have a unique small form factor case. There is not enough room between the video card and the side of the case for the power plugs on 99% of cards. I found a Sapphire R9 270X with the plugs on the back of the card, but nothing better... All the new cards have the side plugs. Does anyone know...
I have some ideas for some mods but don't want to start working on my case. If anyone has any leads the would be AWESOME.
They look like this: (minus the phone handle on top and I cut out the 80mm fans for the 120mm)
So, I recently bought an AMD 1090T 3.6Ghz x6 and it was only running at 800Mhz on all cores. So I follow the instuctions for flashing my mobo with the latest BIOS to the T!! and of course it locks up... effectively bricking my MOBO.
I said screw it and bought a new mobo, and another 8GB of...
in all my years of PC building closest thing I have seen to this is someone who painted a lot of things on his mobo with UV paint so it would glow under black light.
never heard or seen someone replace RAM or PCI or any slots.
PM the man himself, he has two for sale a couple years ago and it doesn't look like they sold. Maybe he still has one.
