I've had this AX1200 for years and its never been used near its power limit. I had it mining around 400-500watts for a bit, then just surfing the web and occasional gaming. Over the years I had to replace the ATX 24 pin cable and just recently my system started crashing pretty frequently when...
I want in on this conversation. Would you consider the $15 a month subscription to wow a "pay to play battle pass"? I mean without it your literally capped at lvl 20 and cant trade in game people. Diablo Immortal and hearthstone are much better then that.
No one is playing competitive games at 4k seriously. 1440p is currently the most popular resolution for refresh rate, fps, cost, and sharpness combination. I don't have a 4090, but i have serious doubts it would maintain 144fps+ at 4k
the 7800x3d having an estimated 12-15% bump in performance...
I put at least 12 hours into this beta. I ended up with a fully geared sorc (ice shards 7/5 build) I tested chain lightning, fireball, meteor, hydra etc but felt ice shards was the best all around for my gear. I was sitting around 180int, typically a single volley of ice shards was hitting...
I was in a 93 minute queue. Went and did other stuff came back my old laptop was at make a character screen so i tried a sorc. I got to lvl 9, coming straight from a fully geared season 28 witch doctor its really painful to play a character with a single attack. It played pretty well on a 7th...
As i sit here and read the replies on this thread i realize how out of touch I am with people. I never went to twitter for politics. I went there to find out when a company was launching a new product or to put someone on blast for shoddy workmanship. I don't goto youtube to watch some...
A graphing calculator will probably play diablo 4 at 4k. Do you need a 4090 for cyberpunk? sure, but i cant imagine diablo being difficult for a mid range gpu.
Oneplus 7/9 Pros were my favorite phones. I am currently on a samsung S22 with google fi. Phone was $300, no contract. Monthly bill is $92 for 4 unlimited lines. I prefer the oneplus phones, but this S22 is pretty good for $299 (with port in promotion)
If it were me, id strongly consider a placeholder GPU until main stream 4000 / 7000 are available. I have left over 6600xts from mining and it blows my mind how good they are at their price point. Im getting 110fps in apex on 1440p monitor, settings maxed with one. Since i was getting roughly...
Sure. I just downgraded from a 6900xt to a 6600xt and went from 120fps at 1440p to 110fps at 1440p on Apex arenas. If the 6600xt is this good, you should be fine with a 6750/6800. My 3900x cpu bottlenecks me.
edit: are you still using a sandy bridge CPU? id replace motherboard, cpu, ram...
Leisure suit larry! j/k. star control 2? masters of magic, masters of orion? consoles didnt really have games like this. First time i played doom though, just floored me.
Oh yeah, we played a lot of kings quest, space quest, police quest. Anything by Sierra.
I have a 6900xt, 6600xt, and an amd fury. Curious where the 7900xt falls on hashrate.
I have read a 6900xt will do around 100mh/sec for NTLM but with my wordlist, rules, settings im getting around 30mh/sec My 6600xt gets 22mh/sec and my fury gets around 11mh/sec -- thinking of setting up a...
Thats a good idea, but you know whats crazy. Going from a 6900xt to a 6600xt had basically zero impact on my FPS at 1440p@144hz. I havent been super motivated to figure it out.
I have a powercolor 6900xt that might be going bad. Lately its been crashing everyday, i checked event logs, tried different drivers, ddu, etc swapped in a 6600xt hasn't crashed since. Id like to try it in a different rig, but its to big to fit in my other builds. It can run NTLM cracking in...
I had an ender 5, then a neptune 2s, was sick of manually leveling the bed and inconsistent print results. Was looking at getting a voron, but didnt want to deal with 30+ hours of assemble and tuning
id probably get a 3060ti as a placeholder and wait until 4070s are like $400. I just switched from a 6900xt to a 6600xt and didnt notice any difference at 1440p.
I don't care at all about bandwidth. I care about stability, latency, and price. Charter forced 200mbps on me, i was fine with 100. I really dont think id want less then 50mbps considering my kids are on youtube and sometimes my wife streams 4k content on netflix
I was planning to keep my cards in the hopes of another coin coming along.. however a new generation of cards had higher MSRP and allowed me to sell the cards i was sitting on for 80% so i opted to get most of my money back. I kept the 6600xts for future gaming rigs, friends, family, etc. Kept...
I assume sarcasm? Otherwise i disagree. I think i paid $200 for my XP barton 2500? inflation between 2005 and 2023 is 1.5x so thats $300 for a mid range cpu today. I just bought my daughter a Ryzen 5 5500 for $98 and i frequently see ryzen 7 5700x under $200. Even the flagship 7950x is...
I recently switched from oneplus to samsung s22. I like the oneplus phones a lot better. I miss having more choices in the marketplace. I loved my essential phone and LG phones. Oneplus phones are awesome but would rather have a domestic product ( i don't consider iphones made in china...
I miss those days because thats when overclocking and tweaking actually meant something. I remember i overclocked my AMD XP Barton chip from 1.83ghz to 2.4ghz and saved $800 just on the CPU cost alone. I went from PC gaming -> benchmarking -> crypto mining -> to now... i just surf the internet...
A friend of mine just bought a 4070ti. I don't want to say its good value but if someone wants to drive a 4k monitor without spending $1000+ there really isnt a lot of options. just a couple months ago, i thought my 6900xt was going to have some legs, and now i look at benchmarks and see how...
I sold all seven of my 1080s for around $900 used, when i quit mining. Its much easier to justify a $550, $900, or $1500 video card when it generates an ROI. I was never into mining because i cared about crypto. I was in it, because i love computer hardware.
if i was in his boat, id probably go with the X670 -- then he could drop in newer processors down the line without having to also swap the ram and motherboard. I havent done the research yet, but if there is no qwerky no platform issues then id go that route for sure. I am here on an X3900 and...
this is exactly how i feel about the I3-6300 or i5-7300u we have at work -- and they are A LOT faster then a fx4300 in ipc at least. I wouldnt mind having an old FX system around as my retro gaming PC, but they sell for too much on the 2nd hand market for my taste. Just bought an AMD r5 5500...
I pay $90 a month for 4 lines, unlimited through google fi(tmobile). service isnt as good as cricket(att), but were saving $45 a month. When we switched to google fi, the promotion was port a line and get an S22 unlocked for $299 each.
My kids use a motorola G power, i cant fathom being stuck...
Tell me about it. When all my friends were gaming on xbox 360, ps3, xbox one, i just wanted to throw up in my mouth. First you have to pay a monthly fee to play online, two you cant play very popular mmorpgs, three you low detail, choppy framerate -- computers have been doing 60fps/60hz for...
If i was in the market right now, i think id be buying a 6750xt. Just checked, second hand 6900s are going for $620 which seems higher then id expect. I could swear 6900s were going for $500 around the launch of the 4000 series.
I miss mining so much. curse you PoS ethereum. Now i am forced to look for video games to play, but none of them are as fun for me. I think miners certainly impacted the market -- buying video cards on 0% interest knowing they were going to pay themselves off every 3-6 months (in the good...
im about to pull the trigger on an LG 42" oled c2. really sick of my 31.5" curved acer 1440p 144hz monitor. Its fine for gaming, but poor color for photo editing.
Frankly, i am shocked new cards are still priced so high when there should be a HUGE amount of used cards on the market. I sold both of my 3070s and my 3060ti. Keeping my 6600xts for my kids gaming rigs. I also have two space heater gpus that game fine AMD Furys, been to lazy to swap it out...
It doesnt need to suffer, just get an 6600 / 6650 for like $279. No one needs a 4070ti for $900 They will lower their prices eventually if people stop buying over priced cards.
I am not defending the position that these cards are broken, 140+fps is still quite usable IMHO. I assume its just a driver update away from resolving the issue.

I agree, overclocking at this point is pointless. You used to save hundreds of dollars by buying a cpu and overclocking it to flagship speeds, but the OEM boost levels are soo dialed in now, its hard to gain more then 5-7% and stay stable. I would pay extra for stability and extra PCI-E lanes...
Some of my issues might of been self inflicted -- i had undervolted / clocked for mining. I was getting a lot of crashing in apex, but after installing the latest driver that fixed the issue. The only games ive played on the 6900xt are apex and DCS, other then that was just using it as a space...
I confess, ive had more driver issues with my powercolor 6900xt then any previous AMD card i can remember going back to the ATI 4850. With that said, since updating them, its been fine -- ive also had an issue with the fan profiles -- the card wants to run silent (0% fan) to 100C and seems to...
