1. The F-Stream program does not contain any Fatal1ty mouse port settings. I think it must've used to, but it doesn't now. And AsRock obviously haven't updated their advertising to reflect this. The only way I know of is to download the ASRock App Shop and install the Fatal1ty Mouse Port program...
It's unfortunate to hear a number people having problems with the AsRock Z170 Gaming-ITX wifi connector. What the hell are ASRock workers doing when they pack the board??
I ordered this board from NewEgg and had it shipped to Australia, and mine was ok. I haven't had any issues with my...
I didn't manually change anything. All I did was hit the button to enable the 2666 profile for the ram. I'm not at home atm, so can't check the actual setting.
Here's a screenshot of my H/W Monitor (ASRock Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac). Using 2x16GB 2666 Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM. The only change I've made is to enable the 2666 profile (after first inserting the RAM it defaults to 2133):
ok, after a total reinstall, I've solved the problem. I'll go into detail below because this may help others.
I did disable CSM (compatibility support module), but my system refused to boot like SHwoKing said. Luckily, my system went straight to BIOS instead of a black screen. I realised my SSD...
Thank you for the heads up.
Yeah although I'm coming from a 7200rpm, this is my first SSD. It's definitely faster, but I was expecting more.. :) Although as I mentioned, I haven't done a whole lot aside from install programs. So my experience is a bit limited for now.
I had the same...
I wanted to mention a successful build with an ASRock Z170 Gaming ITX/ac and Samsung 950 Pro 256GB.
I got 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance 2666 and I was concerned about the factory BIOS recognizing them. However, the RAM was recognized fine, and I was able to update to the latest BIOS via USB stick...
Anyone who's bought the AsRock Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac, do you remember which bios version it came with? I'm a bit concerned my ram won't work with the earlier bios version.
Maybe it's your ram? Is your ram on their compatibility list? I'm pretty sure there's no onboard speaker, so you wouldn't hear beeps anyway. Or if you have an old case with a speaker you could plug the wire in.
What do you think the chances are of these ITX boards supporting the Samsung 950 Pro M.2 out of the box?
I'm looking at getting the Gigabyte Z170N WiFi. The compatibility list shows it's fine with the Samsung 951, but doesn't mention the 950 Pro yet, likely because it's so new.
Yeah I've been waiting for it to arrive and it's still not even listed on any websites as pre-order.
I'm actually thinking of just going with the Gigabyte Z170N-WIFI. The only drawback is the lack of USB 3.1, but it does have USB C. I can't imagine having/needing a USB 3.1 device in the next...
well...I like the modern back panel, with the lack of relics like VGA and PS2. And it's got a sufficient number of USB ports without going overboard, including both USB 3.1 A and C.
Don't know about that ExtremeFX. Isn't it just a decked-out ALC1150? The AsRock has that anyway, along with the...
Well to answer my own question, the "flicker-free" feature on the Asus seems to be the result of a lack of 'pulse width modulation', and according to TFT Central the Dell also discards PWM for a flicker-free experience.
As for low blue light, it seems this is no different than adjusting the...
The hidden bezel is a dirty trick, but the Dell U2515H is guilty of the same thing, so meh....as long as you know what you're getting.
I'm tossing up between the Asus PB258H and the Dell U2515H. The Dell stand and frame certainly looks nicer and sturdier (the Asus looks outdated), but Asus is...
Yeah this is true. Aside from keyboard and mouse, I never plug anything else in the back if I can help it. I'd like to have C for future-proof reasons, but realistically speaking it will probably be a couple years before I have something that uses that port.
And it'll be just as long before...
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170I-PRO-GAMING/
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Asus Z170I doesn't have a USB Type C connector. Sheesh, each manufacturer's board is missing a nice feature and none of them have it all.
I think I'll still go with AsRock at this stage.
haha I do prefer the front exterior of the white Node 304 as opposed to the mesh, although the V1 does need the mesh for the 200mm fan. I don't mind the mini-bar look, I'm happy it doesn't have that black "welcome to 2003" look.
I also like that the original V1 is newer than the 304 by a...
Thermaltake Core V1 Snow Edition
http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002701
Dang that looks nice. I was going with a Node 304 for my Skylake build, but I think I'll be switching now that there's a white version of the V1. Any thoughts on this case?
Aren't issues with the Qualcomm Killer 2201 more software/bloatware-related? For me it's not a deal breaker. Actually that Gigabyte board seems to come with a lot of bloatware that I'd never install. It even comes with Norton Internet Security for your enjoyment haha
Thanks for the info guys. I think I found a place that has the V550, so I'll see how I go in ordering it. As a side note, when I was was told it was end of life, they said it was getting replaced by a fully modular series.
I don't know if that means the regular V series on CM's website. That...
Ok, it's a bit confusing when they just put V550 on the box (apparently a later revision removed the S from the box). However I'm having trouble finding it anyway. Two places locally had it listed on their website (though not in stock), and when I contacted them that's when they told me it was...
I'm looking at doing a Node 304 build, but I'm finding it really difficult locating a good quality PSU.
I'm looking for:
- less than 150mm/ 5.9in depth (preferably 140mm / 5.5in)
- modular/semi-modular
- 80+ Gold rating or higher
- 500w-550w
Not really fussed about price. Also, as I...
Ha... I'm looking at the AHCI SM951. If I went with NVME, I'd have to get it from overseas. It's just too new and I don't want to have to exchange it if something goes wrong (Windows 10 driver issues, etc).
Thanks for the feedback. I can't find the Intel stock cooler locally at the moment, so I have to look into an alternative. My concern is that the 6700k is a 95w tdp, and Noctua for instance has a smaller cooler (NH-L9i) but they say it's not recommended for CPUs over 65w. I'm a bit confused over...
I'm looking at getting a Node 304 with a Skylake 6700k CPU. I'm just not sure what CPU cooler to put on it. I won't be overclocking. I was thinking of the Noctua NH-U9S. To be honest, I would just use the stock cooler if Intel had actually provided one. Although it'd be nice to keep it a bit...
Ahh, the GA-Z170N-Gaming5 DOES have m.2, I missed that when looking at the specs. Dang, this seems like the ITX board to get. I was waiting on the AsRock as I'm impressed with the current ITX board I have from them, but since the Gigabyte is almost here......
Can anyone think of any cons...
I'd like to know how long it took for burn-in to occur. There is a YouTube video of someone demonstrating image retention on this monitor in March 2015:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfvOYSJTQx4
Although the Youtuber automatically lose some credibility for disabling comments/ratings on the...
What would potentially be the drawbacks of running this SF700 in a system that really only needs a 450w PSU?
I'm trying to work out a nice PSU for a Node 304, i7 6700k, 1xSSD, 1xHDD, 1x GTX 970. I was originally aiming at a quality ATX 450w-550w. I'd love to go smaller, but SFX PSUs are like...
An iPad Air is 2048x1536. That's higher than 1080p for a 9.7" screen, and that's why it looks so sharp. Even a 4.7" iPhone is slightly higher than 720p. In my opinion a 1080p 27" monitor should never have existed, it's a sub-par PC resolution given the size. 24" should've been the max for 1080p.
The Dell 2515 was released in Australia a couple months ago, then disappeared from their aussie website not long after. Not a simple case of "out of stock" - the thing just disappeared from the regular monitor list. Though a couple people have had success calling Dell with some reps locating it...
Would love to hear from anyone that has this Acer H257HU. I'm seeing a number of complaints about the Dell 2515U (panel lottery), so I'm certainly interested in this alternative.
I respect the CoolerMaster brand, but I dunno...their cases always look like they belong in 2003 not 2013 :p
firas: I actually have the Lian-Li Q08 in red, which is a little smaller than the Q11 in the picture. I agree, the Q02 looks great. The only problem is no expansion slot. What's...
Thanks a lot for the replies, there's some interesting builds there.
For what I'm after, it seems I'm still better off with something like the SG05. I thought maybe there might be a case that was a little smaller without compromising too much. I don't want to do any mods or have to install...
Hi guys, I'm looking at building a small Steam Box for the lounge room to use with less GPU-intensive games. For FPS games I'll just use my PC, so the Steam Box will just be for platformers and other casual games (The Swapper, Ducktales, Joe Danger, Sonic, etc) that can be utilized with a...
