I guess it's neat that they at least are using the old new stock of the chips rather than extracting from existing cards.
I do think FPGA is the future for some of this retro hardware.
I don't expect companies to keep online games up indefinitely, offer downloads indefinitely, and I don't expect companies to allow you to play on their servers for free.
But I think companies could do better at either 1 ) Giving players the server to host themself like they used to 2) allow...
If you activate Windows, when reinstalling I just recommend clicking 'skip' on product key page if prompted and allow Windows to reactivate with a digital license. Unfortunately, sometimes you may have the wrong version installed so you may need to edit the install media to allow you to choose...
Microsoft has a good scam going. Introduce new OS requirements which means a huge amount of PC's can't upgrade, then start charging for updates to the OS they can run.
Apparently your personal data isn't worth enough anymore to pay for the free OS upgrade so they have to find revenue somewhere...
Sorta, they have CPU's with iGPU's that are not called APU's. APU's are their term for CPU's with larger iGPU's than what you would find in their CPUs.
You won't be able to install XP onto a modern computer because of all of the changes to the boot strap process which has completely changed since XP. Plus, you won't be able to find XP drivers.
Before going through all this rigmarole I list below, just try installing the application on 11 first...
And where do developers get their money from, 1 time sales leading into perpetuity access to the game? It doesn't make sense to make the claim it doesn't cost anything to host online games.
If a game is continuously selling maybe you can make the point that they factor that into the box price...
Where does the money come from to maintain the infrastructure?
It doesn't make sense to think a 1 time sale should grant indefinite access to online resources.
Sounds like they didn't even send him the new cables that had the correct pin layout at first. mean, that's really low EVGA. What did you expect the person to do?
Well you have to know that the keys from those sites are not legitimate for use in the US. They are either MAK keys which eventually get turned off, or they copied from an OEM sticker off a PC, or they have gotten keys from resellers in China or some other 3rd world country where Microsoft...
Sounds like they want to try to star squeezing pennies from companies that don't run vCenter. Either that, or they think businesses with hundreds or thousands of VM's (companies with money) are running stacks of servers with free hypervisors on them :joyful:
Anyone with any decent size...
Is the HDMI output the default port so the boot display is actually displayed on there? Try leaving just the HDMI output connected to confirm without the monitor connected.
This is exactly right and it's sad that people just don't seem to understand. This forced fake minimal wages only "work" in certain industries where the rest of the market stays low. But then that market may begin to lose jobs due to wages too high for what the market demands. So in an industry...
Microsoft is funny. "Common folks" ask their IT savy friends which computers/OS to go with. IT savy people hate the direction Microsoft is going with Windows, so they recommend other devices. Maybe someday Microsoft will learn from this. Their still operating like they are making Windows XP...
AI can't possibly be slower than the workers at the McD's by my house so I welcome this. You also don't need to have arguments with AI about how a fast food job is a starter job and doesn't need to pay a "livable wage".
The only thing I think is useful in CCLeaner anymore is the app uninstaller which can pull off some of the Windows Store apps you can't normally remove. That said, it's not the only tool that can do that.
It does seem a bit wasteful to have a printer replacement program every 2 years. I think when you factor in failure rate most printers are not failing after 2 years. Just creating a lot of e-waste. They're just giving people a new device every 2 years to "make it worth it" since you are spending...
I had a Samsung laser for a short time as well about 10 years ago but I ended up selling it. It didn't have a bypass tray or do well with envelopes and I like having a scanner on the unit.
I certainly agree for anyone who does any decent volume of printing, using laser printers or the newer...
I subscribe to Instant Ink. I'll explain my reasoning.
In the past I had always bought Epson printers because I like their multi functions. But I kept running into issues where the print heads would get clogged and of course they don't sell replacement's, so I went through 4 printers in about...

Also the memory integrity features that do not work with some drivers are easier to turn on before you start loading a bunch of stuff onto the OS.
10 will still receive updates for another year so it's definitely OK to hang on a bit longer.
When you do decide to move to 11, that may be good time to clean install. One reason in particular is that there are some security features in 11 that can only be enabled on a clean install.
The way I...
I believe this is a FF issue with the latest release. I have Nvidia and saw something like this the other day. Just have to go full screen in the window and back out to fix it.
Also seeing this on Reddit that looks like a similar issue people are having with the latest version of FF...
I thought it says if you are ON 11 it requires TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. That's different than requiring 11.
It says Windows 10 1909 and newer is still supported.
I vote for 10. Putting an unsupported OS on it may just create problems down the road for someone who doesn't know anything about that. Just look at the issue with the new version of 11 and the new cpu instructions is requires. I wouldn't be surprised if 11 continues this trend into the future...
I occasionally use it. They have a few tools that make aligning and layering images/text easy but it certainly still feels like it's from the 90's even with the latest version.
Those CPU's are not on the supported hardware list. If you decide to bypass that and install it anyways, that's a You issue.
Now, whether or not Microsoft should extend Security Updates for Windows 10 past 2025, that's a different discussion.
With their ability to pack in E-Cores and the updates to Windows scheduler to support this, I can see them totally getting away from HT. It was a cool technology, and very helpfull in the early 2000's when it came out. But now days it probably gets in the way more than it helps (while designing...
I don't use Edge but do keep it as a backup browser if I need to check Chrome compatibility (default FF).
But what I do on first install of the OS is go into Edge settings and disable Startup boost and Continue running background extensions and apps when Microsoft Edge is closed. By doing this...
Augmented reality is a tech I believe needs to be further developed because I think it can be useful. But I also see a lot of this product is a solution looking for a problem. Hopefully enough people buy stuff like this to continue development so when real challenges come along that AR can fix...
