I have Sentry 1.0, and run it horizontal with a 1070 blower. With custom fan curve, 1070 fan does get a little loud under heavy gaming once temps go above 50c. Other than that, no issues.
LOL on fish tank. Nailed it.
Still rocking my FT-05, love it. Stuffed that giant 3 slot MSI Gaming X 2070super in there with no problems. It came with a flimsy cheap plastic bracket that you're supposed to screw in the slot right below the GPU to prevent sag.
The FT-05 laughed in it's face...
I feel like this thread is not getting enough love. Only page 4? what is wrong with everyone? :panda:
My Sentry 1.0 is still going strong, have no need for Sentry 2.0, but thinking about buying another one just to support Saper and Zombi.
Use a small screwdriver or something similar. Insert it into the gap and use the shaft of the screwdriver to torque that slot a little bit upward. (Be very careful not to hit anything on your mobo)
You need to loosen up the gap a little bit, a few mm is all you need, just torque the top bar of...
No, the gpu port side of the riser car is not supposed to hit the bottom part of the slot.
It needs to go INSIDE that rectangular slot.
The rectangular slot for the riser is very tight. I posted about it on my build thread a few pages back.
Here is what i did to get the gpu port side of the...
Some crappy cellphone potato pics of the Sentry in my tv cabinet. I can't get over how tiny it is compared to the cable box and my Marantz receiver! It looks so sleek and sexy.
Gotta say thanks again to Saper and Zombie for all their hard work, it's been a long wait, but totally worth it.
Can't speak for others, but I didn't even notice it when i put on the cooler. Was too busy worrying about routing cables, so mine is in the bad horizontal orientation with opening towards ram due to not paying attention and not on purpose. hah
Although to be honest, it might only make a few...
Finished the build! Not my first ITX build, but the tiny confines of the case did have me banging my head against the wall a couple times. The riser card was also a pain in the butt to get seated properly in PCI slot. Needed to walk away from the case a couple times to avoid pulling out my hair...
Getting the riser card slotted into the rectangular hole properly:
Just to expand on this - what worked for me:
Before inserting the riser card into the hole, take a long screwdriver and stick it through the riser hole and torque that skinny flat piece of metal a little bit. Don't use the blade...
So i have an Asus motherboard, and it has one of those nice Q-cable (front panel) extender/quick disconnect cables.
This thing:
https://dlcdnimgs.asus.com/websites/global/products/b0824fxzvaoAOIyb/Q_Cable.jpg
Makes it easier to plug in Power led+, Power led-, and Power SW front panel cables on...
Got all my parts, started building. Damn M2 screws are tiny.
Saper: Ran into first tiny issue/annoyance - I'm building in horizontal orientation.
The little rubber feet don't feel very secure. 1 out of the 4 feet keeps falling out of it's hole every time I move the case. I've tried spreading...
I don't know what any of those words mean ... :)
Looks like newegg got some stock today for Asus turbo, snagged one before they ran out of stock again.
Amazon doesn't even have estimate for when they will get stock again.
Case #141 arrived yesterday afternoon! (SoCal)
Black bag on outside had some small tears, but exterior box underneath black bag was perfect. No dents or holes.
Interior/retail box is beautiful. Never thought I'd say that about a brown cardboard box lol. You can tell the attention to detail...
Same here...
What the hell, he even has a white one that got delivered ... where they hell are the first 150 black ones?
Got my tracking # on May 6th. It will be 1 month next tuesday, not a single update on the order tracking site or USPS site. I'm guessing someone got some Sentries after they...
They reviewed the Node 202 this year, i'm 99% sure. From a retail ITX case perspective, I would have thought that would win ITX case of the year easily. Weird that they would give best ITX case to something the size of a freaking VW microbus. lol
Bought one with blue switches to use at work. Only issue is the "Prtscrn" key cap has "Scroll lock" printed on it. So i have 2 "Scroll lock" caps next to each other. Not a huge deal.
Everything else works as expected.
LEDs are not very bright/noticeable IMO (although my office is very bright...
Looks like you do need both fans installed to keep temps cool, a couple guys on overclock forum have reported similar findings with their GPU.
Some pics of the interior would be appreciated, especially how much space is opened up from GPU chamber to motherboard chamber without the SSD bracket...
Beautiful design.
I saw a post earlier about gpu with oversized pcb not fitting - did you actually try it out with your prototype 4? So Asus 970turbo or 970itx won't fit?
Also, any plans on doing testing for prototype 5 with a skylake i3 or i5? Skylake i5 are 65w, only slightly more power/heat...
Resurrecting an old thread ... does anyone know if this thing is actually for sale?
Only place I've found is some UK sites, but they are all showing as out of stock.
That depends on what you expect out of it. The "offline"/singleplayer experience is pretty boring to be honest. Not really worth the $20. This is an ISI sim, so you are buying it for the online racing experience. ISI doesn't put a lot of effort into AI. There's no "career mode/story mode" in...
Thanks Viper and Kardonxt for the info.
Interested in more info about triple screen support and comparisons to RBR on the physics side. Kardonxt has eyefinity - has anyone tried it on nVidia surround (2d)?
Just finished building mine. Really like it. So compact for an ATX case.
Some thoughts (in case Tony is still following this thread. Maybe they can make changes in revision 2)
Like everyone said, wouldn't have minded a few extra mm on the back panel from motherboard tray. Looks like an extra...
Apart from Marantz's NR line, there's also the Yamaha RX-S6000:
http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-S600-Home-Theater-Receiver/dp/B00F0H88AC
Its same width and height as Marantz line, but shorter in depth. 12.5 inches compared with Marantz which is ~14.5inches
Such odd dimensions. 491mm is almost 20inches. Wider than a full size keyboard. Most entertainment cabinets have partitions around 17inches. For its intended use as a steambox which will sit in the TV cabinet, that is just an odd way to go.
Have you looked at all in one win8 pcs? Quick look on newegg shows A4 and Pentium all in ones right around $500, and even a few i3 machines if you are willing to go with open box. Your parents get their traditional keyboard/mouse interface with monitor, and added bonus of touch screen if they...
Agree with cennis on air flow if you're not overclocking, should be fine.
Dunno about the fan that came with case, I didn't use it. Hook it up to the fan controller and see how it is, you can always swap it out later, that rear fan mount is pretty easy to get to...
Which leads me to my...
I took a look this morning, there's about 4 or 5 mm of clearance from the bottom of the radiator/tubes to the back plate of the MSI 760 mini GPU.
It's kind of hard to photograph since the case is so small, i can't really get the camera inside. The radiator and GPU are actually offset a little...
Hm, I'll check when I get home tonight. But I never noticed any tightness or pressure on the GPU. I know when i was mounting the radiator to the back of the case, there was still enough room to move the radiator freely to line it up with the screw holes without hitting anything. It didn't feel...
Here's my build. Thanks to you guys for posting pictures, convinced me to go forward with my first mini ITX build.
I LOVE mini ITX, it's so tiny and compact, the case is so small!
I HATE mini ITX, it's so tiny and compact, my knuckles and fingers want to throw the case out the...
