I enjoyed the first game enough to buy this one. Damn this game has some nice visuals. This series has a bit of the same vibe as The Last Of Us only not nearly as thought-provoking, and production value is not as high (which is a tall order considering Naughty Dog’s quality). Still this series...
This is pretty fun. I played through the original only once so it feels fresh to me and a bit nostalgic at the same time. Graphics are nice and gameplay is true to the original. My only issue at the moment is performance. With either DLSS set to Quality or RTAO enabled, the game will run great...
2022 was an interesting year for me. My favorite games were all older games, and all ended up being in my top 5 of all time.
In order of my infatuation with them during 2022:
Red Dead Redemption 2 - finished my second play through, then played through the entire game twice again back to back...
Environments looks great. I can’t put my finger on it but something about that gameplay loop looks mediocre to me. I’m still excited for this game, but I’m interested in seeing more gameplay videos.
4K, Ultra+ settings, DLSS Quality, RT off, HDR enabled looks pretty damn great to me. I don’t plan on touching settings from here, I’ll just play the game. I might try a lighting mod (Super Turbo Lighting or Phoenix Lighting) at some point for the hell of it.
Same here on all accounts, even the amount of crashes thus far. I’m playing with RT disabled now and it’s stable, and it looks better than my previous modded version as far as I can tell. Just getting to White Orchard so I’m not very far in the game. Honestly I’m just happy to be replaying it.
Is this on PC? In my mind this was a game I played without HDR because it wasn’t available, but now I’m doubting myself. I guess I need to fire the game up tonight and see.
I’m pretty excited for this update, and it seems like a good time of year to replay the game too. Anyone understand how the update will interact with currently installed mods? I’m assuming I will need to uninstall all mods before playing this.
I understand where you’re coming from but I’m excited. I’ve been looking for a reason to replay this. I’m excited for all of it but especially Hearts of Stone.
It’s brutal to use because of the slow aim down sight time, but it feels like one of those guns that could be really great once you level it up and add a few attachments to increase ADS and mobility. As it stands right now whenever I use it I spend more time walking around aiming down sight...
I’m doing just fine with mouse and keyboard and I’m an average player at best. Maybe SBMM is working as intended and actually a benefit, in this regard?
Finished the campaign tonight, it was pretty decent. Graphics are nice, gunplay is great, story is standard COD. It was exactly what I needed after just replaying TLOU and TLOU2: simple-minded blow shit up and use cool guns kind of fun. 7/10 for me.
Edit:
Best mission - Alone
Worst mission -...
Before you can play the game you have to login to your Activision account, in the in-game menu. I input my credentials and click the login button and it just sits there doing nothing. I’m guessing server issues on their end? For a single player campaign…slightly annoying.
Edit: solution is to...
This game is a freaking masterpiece. It has nothing to do with the visual upgrades of Part I and everything to do with the original game. For anyone who hasn’t played it yet, it doesn’t matter how you play just find a way to play it. What an experience.
Hit the PS button on the controller to bring up the system tray (or whatever it’s called) and select the home icon. That takes back out to the PS main menu.
I did and I’m really enjoying it. I should qualify though - I have only played through the game once (Remaster on PS5) and have been itching to play again. It really left an impression on me, it immediately became one of my all-time favorites. The visual upgrade of Part I is well worth $70 to me.
I’m in a weird mix of games right now:
The Last of Us Part 1 - started tonight
Red Dead Redemption 2 - unbelievably my 4th playthrough
Battlefield 2042 - rediscovered the fun in this game, some great BF moments on the classic maps (this might be nostalgia, mostly)
I went on a bender with this game - completed my second playthrough and immediately started my third and I just finished that. I don’t recall any other singleplayer game I’ve completed this many times. This game is high up my list of all time greats, which is curious considering I didn’t really...
The bounty does not eat up all the money, at least not when I did it. I came out ahead. Plus it’s an easy way to get the Schofield Revolver early on in the game.
Best horse in the game is the Braithwaite Turkoman (or any other Turkoman you find/buy). Essentially the same speed/acceleration as the Arabian but it’s of the War Horse lineage so it doesn’t spook easily. Plus it doesn’t feel like you’re riding a miniature pony.
