Why would you use an old version?

I use xfce and EndeavorOS, its a derivitive of Arch. Usually all I do is open up the file manager and type at the top "smb://ipaddress". Without the quotes. Then it just asks me for a user/pass.

I have used both pro editions.

Timeshift is basically a really easy to use gui for rsync and btrfs snapshots and chron and other stuffs.

Try "Timeshift". Works really well.

You might not have the cache on it set up correctly. I love the program.
