I recently acquired an LG c2 42 inch TV to use as a monitor. I thought to use my older 40 inch 60 hz vizio tv as a second monitor but I'm having some issues.
The c2 works fine running GSync at up to 120hz with hdr using a 8k60hz/4k120hz hdmi cable from the the hdmi out of my gigabyte 3080 12g...
Well I trashed my system in the process but I managed to get secure boot active in both linux and win10. Apparently this ASRock bios is a bit different. If csm is disabled it breaks the boot (at least for windows). But you can still activate secure boot with csm enabled. This is opposite of what...
I tried to overclock using CPU Tweaker as well as the built in ASRock utiity but both now show a max multi of 38. As best I recall it was 44x or 48x before the bios flash.
It is very peculiar that the table of potential values would just change without breaking everything. The flash updates seem...
Having a strange issue with the bios on an older ASRock fatality z68 professional gen3
As I mentioned elsewhere I was trying to get secure boot to work and as a last try I switched back to an earlier bios.
After this flash I could no longer set cpu multiplier above 38x and xmp profiles...
Yeah it won't even boot an installation or recovery disk for windows same error. Something about that "bootmgfw.efi" doesn't work with this system with csm disabled.
I modded the bios years ago to allow me to boot from an NVME drive. That works fine and never caused me any problems that I'm aware of.
I can boot from UEFI just fine, boot drives are UEFI and GPT and I boot from an ESP partition for windows boot manager (bootmgfw.efi) or Linux mint boot...
I decided to move an older setup to use secure boot and I'm having some difficulties.

Yes, That was my first thought. It seemed odd that just a 3c header would be bad.
But It still doesn't work with a replacement cable (Phanteks was great, good communication and speedy delivery) .
So I'm left with the port or some odd firmware issue. I've tried 3 bios variants and nothing...
Need some opinions.
I purchased a Gigabyte X570S Aorus Master a few months ago and just recently got around to checking my case front USB-C jack.
I got no signal or power for any device I tested.
I tried another USB 3.2-C cable and had the same results.
The rear USB 3.2-C port works fine and...
I've been considering taking advantage of the relatively cheap 5900x. So I've been looking into these 2x32 sticks also. Everything I see is 18-22-22-42 starting at ~$220 on up. I haven't found any reasonable cas 16 in any of the normal sources. I wouldn't be surprised to find they aren't making...
The last thermal compound I purchased was Arctic Silver II. I still have a bit left in the tube; it still spreads fine. I had my 2600k mounted using it for over 10 years and had no noticeable temperature change over that time. I recently pulled the heatsink and even with the 10 years of...
I've not had problems with Amazon. All 3 times I've had a problem with missing or damaged items they either replaced or credited me for the item immediately and with no real fuss.
Yes - these were pretty good chips. My Opteron 170 ran fairly cool at over 3GHz with stock voltage for years (I don't recall how much over). I'd probably still be using it for backup if my DFI lanparty board hadn't given out.
Not really comparable but a few weeks ago I had a Newegg delivery where I had ordered (along with some other items) 2 items each package with a pair of fan splitters inside (four splitters total). They sent me a single package with one pair of wires (two total).
Now this is not something that...
Has anyone else noticed a problem "buying" these games when using firefox the last few days? I'm unable to load the product purchase page from FF. Chrome seems to work fine.
Not really simple to drag it out of the garage and it is disassembled at this point and wouldn't help much. I'll try to describe.
The obvious (didn't require any real case mod):
1.I removed the plastic 80cm cages from all locations.
2. I used 1+ inch plastic standoffs and long machine screws to...
So ... I'm uncertain what to make of this. I purchased a Sabrent rocket pcie 4.0 1Tb in hopes of using it as a new boot drive on a new build. I tested it by cloning my sys drive onto it and doing crystalmark tests comparing the 2. The scores are a bit of a puzzle. I had expected the nvme drive...
I've had a ASRock z68 Fatal1ty Professional for 10 years and no real problems. My only complaint is that the bios updates stopped too soon. I like to see a occasional bios refresh on these higher end board for a decade or so. In the case of this board boot nvme and updated microcode would have...
The msi meg b550 Unify or Unify-X both look interesting if you don't need the extra pci slot. (4) m.2 slots, (6) sata slots, overkill power, lots of usb. You are trading off m.2 or pci and m.2 or sata but you do get some flexibility.
Pure parasites. No value added to the products. Actually negative value; well of course they benefit. I guess they could be begging on the street instead.
I have to agree I don't see the point of this board. It is over $100 more than the original and appears to be no more than a minor refresh. It probably should have replaced the original Taichi at the same price point. I suppose they may have beefed up the power plane a bit but that isn't worth...
I got bored with waiting for the 5900x and motherboard to become available and decided to put my old parts into this new case to see how temps compared.

Don't know your budget, but Seasonic px-850 platinum prime with 12 year warranty was $199.99 from amazon last week.
Hmm just checked - only listing I see now is $499.99 ... that is odd. Maybe it will come back at that price.
without specs or backplate view all I can tell from pic is that it has slightly better color scheme, 2 8pin power connectors and what may be another 3.0 header onboard. If it upgraded lan it may be a winner for me.
What I'd like to do is top mount one of these aio's and install a small filler port with a small clear reservoir as a visual indicator of current liquid levels.
Thanks for the responses. I expected that 850 watts was enough but good to know others agree.
It sounds like even by current 750 watt PCP&P would still have worked out but it must be over 8 years old and I thought I'd start a new build with a new power supply.
