I have 1400+ 100% positive feedback on ebay as a seller and buyer, and I have all positive heat as well.
Hmm. I guess I'm becoming an old man. Maybe I'm tired of the infinite walls of the hardware space. Maybe I should stop trying to make hardware myself. I used to be able to get literature and specs free in college. Alas, no more.
Yup. This is great input. You guys are absolutely right. But there needs to be verifiable information why a new standard must be used vs just revising a current standard (clock retimers added to DP2.0 vs creating an entirely new video output interface). Where are my clock diagrams? Where is the...
Does anyone have a link to the paper or working group study showing the downfalls of sodimm vs camm? I can imagine that reducing latency is important, but again, why not just update the sodimm spec? Why not just require tighter PCB trace routing and length matching requirements to reduce ringing...
It's called dell DGFF. It was the dell proprietary MXM replacement that no one ended up using except dell. Thus, owners of extremely expensive workstation laptops were forced into only using dell only gpus. Before you could use any mxm-b or mxm-a module within reason (ones that supported LVDS...
Oh man, this smells like the dell-only gpu format that was labeled as an "open" standard which promptly, no one adopted. They killed off mxm to make a few more bucks. HP still uses mxm in their highest end zbook.
As an owner of many precision laptops, my current one will be my last.
Update: Grabbed a kit of Ballistix Sport LT 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 ram and it worked at XMP profile right off the bat. 8 hours of prime95 and no errors.
memtest up next.
Thanks again for all the help guys. It means a lot. :)
Update: Ran memtest86 on the corsair ram at non xmp profile (2133) and no errors resulted. I was going to try the 1.37-1.38v trick, but I have a day left on the return from newegg so I'm claiming the return.
I just snagged a kit of Ballistix Sport LT 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 ram...
I'll give that a shot. This is nanya corsair ram. CPU-z mentioned it's nanya dies. This is the exact ram I purchased:

I'm using a Quadro p400.
Just updated bios to v1.1. Bios picks up ram as ddr4-2133 on "auto". I manually set to ddr4-3200. XMP profile not enabled.
Windows randomly crashes when ram set manually to 3200mhz. Just opening win10 start menu crashed windows 10. A brief BSOD error message mentions...
Thanks for the input guys. Switched from XMP profile to "auto" in bios and the rounding errors in prime95 went away. I made a new win10 pro install with all the necessary drivers. Prime95 showed no errors for 5 hours.
Currently running memtest but it never shows the results. Ran memtest for 8...
Hey guys. Thanks for all the input. I disabled xmp profile and just set it to auto in bios. Prime95 ran without error for 50minutes. I decided to stop the test there
I'm doing another clean win10 install with all the appropriate drivers and going to run the test for a few hours.
I'm also going...
I have the XMP profile in bios enabled. The motherboard is on stock bios, I have not updated it since I received it in the mail.
I am going to try disabling xmp and see if that changes the results.
What is a "PBO maxed out test" ?
I have this exact ram...
Hi. I recently purchased a used 3900x for a new PC build. I think there is something wrong with it.
Setup:
-ryzen 3900x
-asrock b550i (brand new, 1week old)
-(2) 16gb corsair 3200mhz LPX memory (brand new, 1week old)
-evga 550gm PSU (brand new, 1week old)
-intel NVME
-noctua u9s
-arctic mx-2...
Looks pretty sweet
What heatsink was modeled in this render? I've been hard pressed to find many heatsinks with less than 140mm height. The noctua NH-u9s is one of the few options. Thanks!
Neat. I always wondered why paypal gave the option of 16oz for first class, but usps would not. I thought it was a simple paypal error and mainly stayed towards 13oz. Going to give 16oz a shot now :D

Edit: disregard the GPU. turns out the die was cracked and chipped on all sides :/
Excellent information. I'm going to check out the shippo and pirate ship options. To let you know, paypal does provide access to USPS and UPS commercial pricing right through that shiplabel/create link I posted above. I think you have to jump through a few hoops and link your ups account to...
Hi. Can we put a sticky on the for sale thread on shipping suggestions during this health crisis?
I've read a few FS threads where sellers are limiting the times they go out to the post office and minimizing excursions. They don't actually need to go out to the post office at all.
I think it's...
Hey guys! Thought i'd post this up on freebies before it goes on craigslist free. not shipping because will probably get damaged in shipping.

Come on intel open the flood gates. Release some form of Foveros chip!
I can imagine it's going to take a while to perfect 3d packaging, even if they introduce it on 14nm+++ process.
I want to one day OC a 3D stacked chip. Make it happen intel.
I hear you guys loud and clear now. I purchased the M705 for my laptop a long time ago. I just kept using it and reused it on my desktop.
Never again.
Now all I have to decide is whether I take the 2lb or 5lb sledge to the M705.
I'm leaning toward the 5lb.
You guys are not going to believe this.
The problems I had with the intermittent lagging seems to be caused my my logitech m705 mouse.
removed my mouse, plugged in my other logitech g400s, no lagging whatsoever.
I stopped using the g400s because the mouse becomes gummy in your hand.
Screw soft...
Thanks for the suggestions guys
To be honest, 40 tabs is really not that much. My old sandybridge laptop could handle 60-80 tabs on firefox with virtually no lag when switching between tabs.
I ran memtest86 and the zero errors were reported.
I ran malwarebytes and security essentials and...
Background:
I built a 18 core machine 2 years ago to serve as my CAD render workstation. It works great for rendering, but there is this weird irregular errata that happens with the machine. I have been trying to pin point it ever since. It seems to come up every few days.
machine specs:
-Xeon...
Hell yeah man. Nice score on that CPU. Thanks for the article, I didn't know IBM custom ordered CPUs from intel that late in the game. I thought that stopped after the 386 days! Also, I had that exact xion case back in the P4 days :D.
